Chaos leading up to wedding

Kersten, on October 16, 2019 at 4:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3
So literally everything that could go wrong is going wrong. This is what has happened so far:
-The chef we did our tasting with and built our wedding menu with died tragically months after his own wedding
-our wedding planner gave me the wrong PO Box address for all the RSVPs so half we never delivered
-my dress is fitting horribly after many fittings
-my mom fell and broke her elbow (twice)
-foh’s dad fell and broke his ribs
-I work in IT and for the last week we’ve been fighting a cyber attack at work so I literally am getting very little sleep and very little work done I have worked 80 hours in 5 days
-I haven’t submitted final counts because are not replying to wedding planner so I am just counting them as “No’s”oh and did I mention i have no time?
-my maid of honor decided now until the day before the wedding was the perfect time to travel for Florida for Disney
-one of the grooms men decided to pull out of the wedding last week
-the best man decided to throw the bachelor party this Saturday and invited people not invited to the wedding bc he didn’t want me involved
I have 16 days left and it is pure chaos everywhere, I am so freaked out that more stuff will blow up and idk what will happen... I just needed to vent

    Breathe!

The only one of those things you can do anything about is the RSVPs. If you have no time, your FI needs to call people from whom you have not received RSVPs to pin down whether they are coming. You really can't just count them as nos. If you do, you'll have people who received an invitation and RSVPed yes showing up for the wedding. And what do you do then, tell them they can't eat, even though they did everything right?

For the rest, it will just be a funny story to tell your grandchildren one day. And it will be even funnier if it ends with, "And in spite of all that, we've been married 50 years now."

Ah breathe !! I agree with PP. Deal with the final counts. The rest like people being annoying is just stuff to let go. I hope your family members recover well

I'm so sorry all this is happening at once! I hope you're able to take a break to treat yourself and relax. I hope everything ends up working out for the best Smiley heart
