Changing wedding date 😬

Onya, on February 10, 2020 at 6:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
So FH and I️ originally had the date set to 4/3/21 (iconic right 🙄🙃) and the plan was to get married in my mother Las Vegas home. BUT we changed the plans and are now looking at a venue that is all inclusive. Y’all I’m so in love with the venue that when They said they were booked for our date I️ immediately told FH I️ would be willing to change it to whichever date they had available. We are from philly but are going to Vegas this Wednesday and will be touring the venue next week. We both actually love it and the price works for us and they’re down payment to hold a date is only $500. I️ thought That was incredible since most places want more than 1k. I️ really Pray that we fall in love with it when we visit. I️ also Hope that we can have the down payment if we really do love it. It was so last minute and sprung out of no where but I️ have A feeling this is going to be our place. Anyone else changed their date after setting it? How is it working out?

I’m just happy they we haven’t sent out any save the dates. While we’re in Vegas we are taking our engagement photos that we will be using for the invites/save the dates.

I can’t relate because I did not have a set date prior to looking at venues. We found the place we wanted and then chose the date based off of availability. If I were you and I wanted the venue, I would def change the date if you haven’t sent out any announcements. Unless it has a super significant date meaning that you aren’t willing to budge on, which is doesn’t sound like it from your post, then your dream venue is more important in my opinion. If you already hired others vendors, I would check to see if they would be available for your new date before committing. If you haven’t hired anyone I don’t see how it could affect anything.

Completely right! We’ve decided to have the date according to availability. Hope we enjoy the space when we see it next week!

Hope everything works out for you!

We didn't have a specific date in mind necessarily but we knew we wanted it sometime mid-March because I work in education and that would be spring break so we would be able to go on our honeymoon right away. We decided to bump the wedding up to February though when we found out it would be $600 cheaper is we had it in February because that is one of their "off" months. We figured this way we save money and had more leeway with how long we could go on our honeymoon.
