Changing wedding colors after invitations have been bought

I was planning on having Malibu blue and purple as my wedding colors, found cute save the date and wedding invitations to match, however after the save the dates have been sent out and the invitations bought I ended up changing the colors as the previous ones would not match the dress I bought. My question is do the invitations have to match the wedding colors?

    I don’t think everything has to be matchy. I am just going with save the dates and invitations that are nice. I dont have an obvious theme like “beachy” or “rustic” And they have no connection with my dress.

    I don't think people are going to focus on that aspect of the wedding. Theres no rule to have matching save the dates and wedding colors

    No worries - likely, no one would even notice! We did simple greenery invites, and only one person followed up to ask our wedding colors as they wanted to make sure they didn't accidentally match the wedding party. Smiley smile
