Changing Venues

Abby, on June 17, 2021 at 10:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
My fiancé and I are looking into changing venues after some recent issues with our current venue, such as them being in a civil suit over noise with the neighbors, the owner getting belligerent drunk during weddings, I could go on and on. Our contract is very strict about getting our deposit back though… is it worth it to lose $2000 over this??!

Between a suit that could shut them down and a rude owner?

    Yes.

It hurts to lose that money, but you could lose more if you continue to pay and then they close.

It definitely sounds like it’s a good idea to me.

OMG! I’m sorry to hear this. I’m surprised the venue hasn't gotten their liquor license revoked. The owner’s conduct seems strictly unprofessional. $2,000 is a lot of money but your happiness is the highest priority. You deserve to have the wedding of your dreams. I’d definitely look elsewhere. Good luck!

Oof. I would have a hard time with eating that 2k, but I think it would be worth it. You don't want to deal with this owner being belligerent at your own wedding.

Absolutely. I understand nobody wants to lose out on $2k but for peace of mind I would. Honestly do you want to be thinking about the owner getting drunk and ruining your wedding or your wedding getting shut down because of noise complaints.

Thank you for making me feel better about it everyone ❤️ I was feeling crazy but I don’t want to have any of this in the back of my head on our wedding day.
