Changed your mind about your wedding dress?

Olivia, on March 1, 2019 at 4:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I purchased my first wedding dress back in May 2018 but 4 weeks ago I began to second guess my dress. Tried it on and totally hated it! I was so lucky that David's Bridal allowed me to exchange my dress and purchase a new one! Just had my alterations appointment and I'll be able to get my dress back two weeks before the wedding! Have any of you changed your mind about your dress? I almost felt like I had to settle for the first dress because the first David's Bridal store (where I purchased my first dress) I called kept giving me excuses as to why the couldn't allow me to exchange it, they even lied and told me my dress was discontinued and for that reason they couldn't take it back. I'm glad I called a different location and they were so nice to let me exchange my dress.

I'm getting mine custom made so I won't know quite yet and it makes me so nervous but the dress I found is MY DRESS! So I'm anxiously waiting and can only hope everything goes well. I'm glad everything worked out for you though!

I had dress regret.. But didnt do anything about it.. I kept telling myself that it was too late to change my mind now.. I do love the dress but I wish I would have tried more on.

I am glad you were able to get a new one!

It'll take about 3 to 4 months so I'll have to keep that in mind but in the meantime, I'm holding off on production because since we decided to get married in Hawaii, we pushed our date back from 2020 to 2021 (to give everyone including ourselves) more time to save. I'd be a nervous wreck if I had to hold onto my dress for so long in the fear that something might happen.

Everyone is telling me I got my dress too early (purchased in July 2018 for April 2020 wedding) but I bought it off the rack, so I can try it on whenever I want, and I still like it just as much if not more!

I had complete dress regret. I went to the bridal boutique couple of months ago and tried on a ton of dresses and fell in love with a ball gown that was absolutely incredible. Then I tried on a all lace fit and flare and I was kind of talked into that by the people that were with me and the associate at the bridal shop. They said that the ball gown didn’t really go with my venue and it was more expensive and the lace dress would need minor alterations. Fast forward to five or six weeks later and I could not stop thinking about the ballgown but the Bridal boutique where I bought my dress had a strict all sales final policy. Last week I went to the boutique and tried on the original dress that I absolutely loved and had the intention of just paying for both dresses and only wearing the ball gown but the owner actually let me out of the first agreement so that I was able to just purchase the dress that I love the most.

I am so so so glad that I went back and that they worked with me because now I have the dress of my dreams.

Glad to hear you got to exchange it and get something you loved and just in the nick of time! ♡ I don't have any fears of my dress I am 100% in love with it but would hate to have the problem of hating it and having to find a solution!

I said yes to a dress that was beautiful and looked great on me, but right after I said yes I just couldn't get excited about it. For about a week I starred at pictures of another dress and ultimately changed my mind and so glad I did. Always follow your gut!
