Change of wedding planner

Hello All,

I met with my wedding planner in the fall and we clicked and everything was good. I emailed her the other day and someone else from the company emailed me back and said from now on she will be my new wedding planner. I have a phone call scheduled with her today but don’t you think that’s odd? My FH was upset and made the comment “if you didn’t reach out when were they going to tell you?” Which made a good point.

Yeah I would be upset too! I would ask what happened to the other wedding planner and why they didn’t notify you..

Did you hire your planner for her specifically? See if you like the new one as well before making a decision. Please understand they are most likely overwhelmed and can’t necessarily reach out to everyone when people are trying to juggle new wedding dates, etc.

Hi Emma! Ideally the company would reach out to you when your specific planner left, but it could have happened recently - and everyone's home and business life is in some level of upheaval right now!
Turnover with venue coordinators can be common, so there are many other couples who dealt with similar situations before. I'd review all of your current plans with your newly assigned planner to bring them up to speed, and clearly outline your next planning steps together and expected timeline! There are plenty of "lulls" over the course of wedding planning, so I always found it helpful to establish the next needed check in date so I had clear expectations about communication.
