Change of plans-no wedding just reception

If you guys are truly wanting to elope. I would elope. You could always send out "we eloped, help us celebrate" invitations vs. regular invitations. The only hiccup i see here is if you want to elope on your original date. Then you would have to inform your guest right away so they wont have to take off work unnecessarily.
Theres nothing wrong with changing plans. If thats something you and your FS want then do it. We postponed our wedding 3weeks out but all of our guest were local so it wasnt a big deal for us.

Isn’t the reception the stressful part of planning? How does eloping and doing a reception only make it less stressful? Or do you mean canceling everything, eloping, and possibly having a smaller celebration later? You can of course do that, but tell your guests soon.

The reception has more stress for sure. If you want the reception do the ceremony as well. Just keep the ceremony simple if that part is stressing you out.

All you have to do is buy a few decorations, get some good food & drinks, and play some music that'll make everyone want to dance. I dont think the emphasis will be on having things 'perfect'. I say elope and have your reception. A few ppl have been posting elopment BAMs and the pix look amazing.

If you aren’t going to be inviting all the people you sent STDs to you need to reach out to them ASAP and let them know you’re cancelling the event.
