Change of mind on Wedding Dress

YES! omgsh I honestly can not love a dress for more than a month! I am finally done. I am not putting mine back on until it is time for alterations. I will not look at other dresses and I will just tell myself that it looks nice. All this hype for the "perfect" dress. I honestly don't think one exists. or at least not for me.

Yes!! This happened to me. I bought the Soulmate gown from BHLDN and once it came in the mail I decided I wasn't as in love with it as I thought. I ended up returning it and am going with their Written in the Stars gown (the sparkly one). My issue was that I had my heart set on the Stars gown originally but talked myself out of it and told myself I needed something more traditionally bridal looking. I should have gone with my gut and the gown I really loved.

My advice is go with your gut! You want to get something that you feel really comfortable and confident in. If you aren't in love with it then return it if you can but I do think your dress looks really lovely on you!!

I feel like a lot of brides go through this. I know I sure did. I bought my dress June or July in 2018 for my March 2019 wedding. I have this feeling but I know my dress is gorgeous and I bought it for a reason. The thing is I kept looking at dresses and found other dresses to be beautiful. I was even going to try on the other dress I wanted. But instead I tried on my dress and my dress looks wonderful on me.

What really helped me was stop looking at other dresses lol.

Seeing my dress and trying it on with the veil made it even more beautiful. My dress is currently in alterations but I can't imagine how wonderful it would look like with the hair and make up all done. Plus the extra gym sessions until the day of lol. And just the accessories. I think it is going to change the look in a good way:]

Yes. This happened to me. I ended up exchanging my dress to another one. Thankfully DB was understanding enough to let me exchange it. My first dress was pretty and all but it wasn’t “me” no matter how many people told me that it was a beautiful dress. And I admit, at first I liked it because of how beautiful the lace was and such. But as soon as I saw my second dress online, i knew that was my dress and no matter what people say about the first dress being prettier, I just say that’s their opinion and the only thing that matters is that I am happy in my dress. So yeah, maybe you can ask the shop if they do exchanges. Good luck.

I keep going through this, too! It seems fairly common, honestly. If you don't love it after trying it on again, maybe you can return it or have it altered to be more you?

You look beautiful!! Dress regret is totally normal. If you can could you go back to the store and try it on in a person again. Sometimes it can be hard to stay in love with a dress when all you have are the pics.

If you really don't love the dress anymore, don't feel you're stuck with it. Ask the store about returns/exchanges, or you can look into selling it.

I think it is normal to second guess, but girl, you look stunning!!

I actually posted in this forum about not liking my dress anymore. I went to try other dresses last week. Then I decided to try on my dress and fell in love with it again. I think that seeing other dresses makes you question your own. You look gorgeous by the way. The dress is beautiful!

What about it is upsetting you? My suggestion is to get your hair and makeup done, bring your shoes and veil and try it all on together. I think you look beautiful and you are absolutely glowing in those pictures. You look so genuinely happy.

The dress is gorgeous on you, I agree, maybe get your trial hair/makeup done, bring your shoes and veil and accs and give it a second go. Def. Stop looking unless you are truly unhappy, Davids has an exchange policy. I had a meltdown with my dress and no crinoline, boom, crinoline and my bustle and I felt so much better.

Been there!! I actually went and bought a second dress because I was so afraid that I was not going to look beautiful in the first one I had. The second one makes me feel more confident and is much more my style. My advice would be if you’re truly worried, going to look for a new dress can never hurt. The most important thing is that YOU love the way you look in the dress. Best wishes ❤️❤️

I think that dress is amazing on you!!! Truly. I couldn’t try on my dress bc it’s being custom made in black. But I tried on a slew of dresses in different styles and then tried on one very similar to mine in white and I knew. I can’t wait for my dress to come in! And I will not look at any other dresses or try anything else on lol.
