Change of heart wedding insurance

Miranda Landry, on August 1, 2021 at 10:51 AM Posted in Planning 1 4
Hi, I am looking for a change of heart wedding insurance that will cover any costs my parents, bridesmaids, and groomsmen will put towards the wedding which is less than a year away (5/27/22). I’ve done research on this prior, but now cannot seem to find any insurances covering change of heart unless it’s a year in advance, which is odd to me considering most weddings are planned within a year or so. I am paying for most of my wedding, but my parents want me to get the insurance for peace of mind before they contribute.

As you said, you will not find this type of insurance less than a year from your planned wedding day. If your parents insist on this type of insurance you would either need to move your wedding date or maybe sign a promissary note stating you will reimburse them for any costs should you/groom get cold feet and call off the wedding.

That’s very unfortunate being that most people just begin planning their wedding at that point, but thank you for the advice.

Wedding insurance policies almost never cover change of heart/voluntary cancellation, it has nothing to do with the timeframe in which you buy the insurance.

I know most don’t, but there are a couple that do. Eventsured does and it specifies this timeframe and Wedsure mentions covering change of heart on their website, but does not specify their policy on the timeframe. I’m not looking into liability insurances or cancellation and postponement and expecting those policies to include change of heart, but there are insurances that do specify that coverage.
