Change in venue

Lynne, on October 8, 2019 at 9:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
FH and I did talking last night and we both want our wedding outside. So, we looked at different options and we found a few parks that would be perfect for the wedding and reception.

We are still looking but we have decided instead of at the fairgrounds we are going to go with a park.

That sounds really nice! I bet it could also save a few bucks if it's a public park Smiley smile

It would save a lot. One I'm looking at has a river nearby, covered shelter, and I think am amphitheatre. The amphitheatre would be great for the reception.

That sounds beautiful! I love amphitheater weddings, I would just be sure to make a back up plan to use the covered shelter or rent a tent just in case of bad weather.

That's what we are going to be doing! Ours is right on the bay and has a covered amphitheater! I'm sure it'll be beautiful

I'd just think hard about what your bad weather Plan B might be at each location you're considering. I read probably three posts yesterday from brides whose weddings are in the next 10 days who are panicked over weather forecasts that include rain, because they chose outside venues under the assumption that "October is the driest month of the year" in their location. Personally, I think any outdoor wedding/party needs a Plan B.

A park sounds good. They're usually cheaper too

Also make sure to check on if the parks allow alcohol (if you plan to serve it).

Not serving alcohol. We don't drink and we don't want anyone driving after drinking.
