Champagne wedding dress

Hillary, on February 7, 2018 at 5:41 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
So I'm new to the group and posting here! Thanks in advance for the help.

I purchased a wedding dress that was not meant to be a wedding dress, but was opal(pearly off white) in color and looks like a wedding dress. Even has a slight train. In the picture online, it looked much lighter. In person the dress is absolutely lovely, fits me perfectly and is a great quality, so I'm over all very happy with my bargain dress purchase. My issue is that the dress looks ever so slightly like an alternative dress because it's almost light nude instead of the champagne color I expected from the opal description. I've actually come to really like it and didn't want to return it, so I'm hoping to find suggestions that may make it slightly more wedding-y. I don't know if it can be lightened or altered, or if I'm looking for accessory suggestions that will look more like a wedding dress overall. Thanks!

Perhaps add a veil, or headpiece...when you carry your bouquet, it will also assist in making this dress more bridal. It is a beautiful dress.

Maybe try adding a belt/sash. Along with the veil/headpiece it should look just fine. Beautiful dress

I think it is stunning, and more and more dresses sold as wedding gowns come in a range of colors (and yours is definitely well within the range). I agree with adding some type of veil or headpiece and your bouquet. But, I don't think anyone is going to forget you're the gorgeous bride in that dress! (Personally, I wouldn't add a belt; I think it has enough going on with the beautiful lines of the dress and the heavily embroidered lace.) Congratulations on a great find!

I think it looks bridal i wouldn't add a belt i think it has enough going on the belt would look odd. But def a veil ( you can find on amazon or certain ones on etsy for cheap) & holding a bouquet with it as well i think will mske you feel more bridal in it! But i think it looks bridal just the way it is!

Maybe I was more worried than I needed to be. I haven't tried it on with accessories and done up yet so I will see if that settles my worry. Thankfully I haven't had any dress regret despite it being different than expected. Thank you!

There's nothing saying a wedding dress has to be white. Accessories will make it feel more bridal such as a hair piece, earings, etc.

I think it's gorgeous! I think that a skinny cathedral veil would be stunning with this dress!

I was shocked at how much more bridal I felt with a veil. I wasn't even sure I wanted a veil but tried one on just for fun and ended up just being in awe of the effect. I second that suggestion!!

What color is the lace over the nude? My dress has a nude/champagne underlay, I love the color contrast! Perhaps a substantially sized ivory veil? And some great bridal jewelry will really dress it up.

It is a nude underlay but white lace on top, not ivory. That's part of why I fell in love with it and decided to try to make it work despite the color difference, the contrast of the colors makes the lace embroidery pop more!
