Champagne toast, or toast with what you have?

The title says it all! Should we have a champagne toast, or should we just let people toast with the drink that they have? The champagne toast would be an additional $255. If it's needed, I'll pay it. But if people don't care, I'd rather save the money.

We're going with whatever's in your hand. The bride will have her Jack Daniel's. The groom drinks beer. Dad is a non-drinker. I'm the mom - and love prosecco, so there will be plenty of that available.

At my niece's wedding last year, champs was pre-poured and at each place-setting, with a strawberry in the glass. I drank all of it at our table, as none of our tablemates wanted any of it. More for me!

If it's included, why not? If it's extra - no way.

Our champagne toast is included otherwise I wouldn't pay extra.

Ours comes with our venue package, otherwise for the extra $$$ we would skip it. Many people don't even like champagne, and it all gets left.

We're doing what they have in hand. Most people don't even touch the champagne. We are doing champagne for the head table though

I think it's nice (only because I love champagne) and in a wedding I attended, servers handed us a glass of champagne as we walked in, so it was a nice touch. But I definitely don't think it's necessary!

My mom really wanted a champagne toast but our venue coordinator and wedding planner told us that they throw out so much champagne from toasts that they hated to see us spend the money on it. They said unless you have have a lot of champagne drinkers people can toast with what they have.

We have an open bar that will offer D'asti, which is pretty similar to champagne. So, we are doing a toast with what is in hand.

Our venue is including a champagne toast. If we had to pay for it, we wouldn't; we would have people toast with whatever drink they have. Since we are doing open bar, people may not want to toast with the champagne even though it is given out.
