Ceremony

FH and I are thinking about doing a tie blanket ceremony. So basically we’ll have a blanket mostly made and tie the last 3 or 4 knots at the wedding. We didn’t care for any of the traditional unity ceremonies and thought this was just much more us. It doesn’t matter what the temp is outside, if I’m home you can find me under a blanket.

My family is Dutch and I want to incorporate the Dutch wedding box ceremony. Before the wedding day, the couple writes letters to each other telling each other how they feel and what they love about each other. The letters are placed in a box with a bottle of wine and sealed during the ceremony (either nailed or padlocked, depending on your box). The idea is that you open the box if the relationship is ever seriously struggling in the future so you two can drink the wine and remember how you felt on your wedding day.

We're planning on doing a ring warming ceremony! We're doing a microwedding with only 20 guests so we're setting aside time in the actual ceremony for the rings to be "warmed" with well wishes/prayers/blessings before we exchange with each other. It'll be a nice way for everyone to feel involved. Good luck!
