Ceremony finale! What are you doing? (rice, bubbles, rose petals, sparklers?) Need ideas

Jocelyn, on October 24, 2019 at 4:59 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14

Hi! I'm stuck on what to do for the end of the ceremony where you walk down the isle and guest throw.....?

I'd love to do sparklers since I'm not doing a going away shot at the end of the reception. (I'm having an intimate dinner reception for 45, the photographer is leaving like an hour before the dinner is over.) Would it be weird to only line the seats near the isle with sparklers or do I need to give everyone one? I think It make take away from the mood of us just saying "I do" and our first kiss. Like everyone will be scrabbling to light the sparklers because we will be waiting to walk up the isle. I was thinking pouches of flowers on the seats, I have the Minnie satin pouches already should I do real red roses?, like what will be lined on the isle or fake to save money? What are you doing? What do you think?

We aren't having anything thrown at us during the recessional. I would check your venue contract before committing to anything. Often times they have restrictions or specific rules stating that you must clean up every single flower petal. I would do real flowers vs fake since they're more environmentally friendly.

My venue is ok with it since I have the ceremony & reception package, they set up and clean up. Plus my florist has been working with them for years and is lining 40 feet on both sides of the isle with lose rose petals. And my photographer has done the sparklers for brides as well, her pictures are show cased around the venue showing such lol I'm just not sure which is better to do. I think real petals is better too, ugh last min additions lol

We are not throwing anything because our venue has strict rules about the pick up of anything that falls or drops on the ground

People just applauded for us. I think sparklers get overly complicated, and the guests get bored waiting for them all to be lit.

I thinking it must be the old wedding tradition in me that wants it! Not many are able to do anything or are doing it. Something to think about, I just like to do extra for events and my wedding is proving that lol

I’m doing sparklers I think they’re super pretty. The DJ will announce here’s the last song, everyone get your sparkler and then they are very quick to light.

We did nothing during the recessional. People just applauded, which I think is the norm. We did glow sticks for out “grand exit”. But even if your photographer is leaving early, you can do a mock grand exit to get the photo in before they leave.

We're doing bubbles. I'm super scared sparks are going to get on my dress and given that I absolutely love my dress and want too keep it for future daughters lol (if they want to wear it), I've also spent so much on it I would probably cry if something happened to it.

A couple of years ago for my dad's bday dinner, the waiter brought a cake (with a sparkler on) for him and a sparkle ended up falling on his lap burning his pants and into his skin.

These are my reasons why I chose bubbles instead of sparklers.

We are doing a sparkler send off but at the end of the reception. i was actually considering having my flower girl use a bubble gun in the ceremony instead of the flowers lol

I Saw This Cool Idea To Hole Punch Leafs And Use It As Confetti So I Got A Bunch Of Them From Our Venue (Its Outside) And Try That But If I Can’t Get A Lot Then Probably Bubbles And A Sparkler Send Off At The End Of The Reception
