Centerpieces and TALL ceilings!!

Morgan , on March 2, 2017 at 4:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

My wedding venue is BEAUTIFUL and doesn't really need much at all but centerpieces are a big question right now. The reception area has really tall ceiling and an upstairs that will also have tables. Is it best to have tall centerpieces on some of the tables or all small?

    That's GORGEOUS!

Anyways, I'm doing all short because I want my guests to be able to see each other if they're sharing a table.

That's a good point! I just think short would be easier to plan for this venue too.

I have a venue with super tall ceilings as well and am doing a mix! The tall centerpieces use a glass vase so that you can still see across the table. I wanted to do something tall BECAUSE of the vertical space available.

I love the look of tall centerpieces in photos, but I agree with Jennifer - it is so hard to see everyone over huge centerpieces. PS - gorgeous venue!!!!

Hi from TX! I would say all short for the reason from PP, and I think the tall would be lost in that pretty space (aka - waste of money.)

We have a very tall venue as well - and we opted for all short (all candles, no flowers on the tables). Although I think the picture of the venue would have been stunning with taller centerpieces, the actual feel at the tables will be better for my guests because they're not so tall.

Instead, we opted to do more uplighting, so the tall columns are brightened and bring your focus up to make the room keep it's nice tall look. I'm not sure it's going to do what I'm thinking in my mind - but hopefully it helps a little?

I'm getting married in a very high ceiling location as well. I am doing tall centerpieces similar to Anne. They are glass vases so you can see through them to the other side to talk to people.

Just do a simple flower inside a vase or a floating candle on top of water. Doesn't look like it needs much!!

So pretty!!! I personally like short centerpieces so you can see all that is going on and talk to others at the table.

Beautiful venue!!!! So jealous! Anyway, I personally do not like tall centerpieces, it doesn't make for great conversations. Plus, with that gorgeous location, you don't really need to much. I'd stick with small floral centerpieces, or maybe lanterns!

I have several venues that have enormous ceilings, and mostly what I see there (that is not gob loads of money) are vases with branches (manzanilla or curly willow), hanging crystals and slight florals. Tall centerpieces with skinny 'bodies' are perfect for conversation, and small ones will get lost.
