Centerpiece/decoration Budget - What did you spend?

Marla, on October 17, 2019 at 11:33 AM Posted in Planning 0 13
What did you spend on decorations and centerpieces for your wedding? Mine is a very small wedding, and I’m working on very limited funds, but I want to also make it memorable.

It really depends on what exactly you want and where you live so it is hard to give you an idea of cost without knowing that information.

I’m really just curious to see what others have spent to see if I’m thinking overboard.

My centerpieces will cost about $90 total ($6-$10) per table. I'm just doing votive candles, flower petals, and table numbers (similar to pic). My ceremony decor will be about $40-$75. I'm using candles as a back drop, and some type of runner or candles along the aisle. Floral will cost about $160 for 5 bouquets and 4 boutonniers.

We spent $1,100 on decorating and flowers, but we went with someone very new to the business and I wish we hadn't as it looked nothing like I envisioned. I was trying to save us money and I'm husband warned me that he didn't like her, but I ignored him.

You can make a floating candle centerpiece for $10 each. I almost did that, but decided against it because it clashes with the venue.

Our centerpieces were included in our venue fee. We decided not to do anything else because I believe that less creates more of an impact. Probably about $2-3/ table for this set up:

I know I’m an outlier here but... all we did for decor was a few signs that we put in picture frames, so maybe $30 total 🤷🏻‍♀️ Our centerpieces were just candles that the venue put there so $0. Honestly that stuff was just so low priority to me. Centerpieces never make or break a wedding experience lol. Personally I prioritized things that directly affect our experience and guests’ experience

I’m not saying it would make or break my wedding. I was merely curious. I love planning events. It was for fun.

Our venue gave us the option to hire their decorator for $450. With that they will give us full access to all of their inventory (she sent me a list with pictures that was 57 pages long and hadn't been updated since 2017), they will set up, tear down, meet with us 2-3 times before the wedding, and come to our house to pick up and decor items that we purchase on our own and bring them back. After thinking about what we really wanted and doing some research, we thought we would spend 2-3 times that on all the decor we wanted.

Not really doing décor (other than florals) because the venue is so gorgeous. I'm sure we will have a few things here and there but I'm not sure on cost yet.

We are mainly decorating with florals. I received quotes anywhere from $40-$150 per table for a floral arrangement in a low centerpiece. We chose the $40 option (really reasonable in my opinion) and they will look like this:

We bought big glass bowls from a Facebook group, I'm making paper dahlias and we're going to gather rocks to put at the bottom of the bowl, add water, add paper flower on top and get some greenery from somewhere (hopefully family backyard) to wrap around the bowls and voila. We don't really care about the centerpieces and the paper flowers were easy enough to do following an online tutorial

$1 per centerpiece aha. I managed to get mason jars, sand, some beads, and candles and that's that. I didn't spend on flowers.
