Centerpiece Ideas/thoughts?

I know I have a little over a year to go, but I like to think ahead. Michael's has their fall crafting stuff in now, and I know I'm going to have a lull in planning that could be spent working on DIY while I wait. With that being said, I want to incorporate our nerdiness into our wedding by having video game themed centerpieces with seasonal touches. What would be cooler in your opinion:

Craft pumpkins with video game stuff ON them,

-or-

Diorama craft pumpkins with video game stuff IN them? (perler bead sprites, or something along those lines)

    I would go with the first option personally. I used to work at Michaels in college and those craft pumpkins are a pain to cut- you would need a special hot knife to cut into them and sometimes your designs don't always come out right.

    I’ve seen some awesome jack o lanterns with Final Fantasy cutouts so having game characters painted on a pumpkin would look pretty cool too!

    Okay, make a friend at Michael’s that can keep an 👁 on inventory levels for the items that you’ll need.

    Then, you can pick them up for a really low price.

    With the diorama, how will all the guests at the table be able to see what's in it (if that's a concern)?

    I'm not really concerned about that. The pumpkins are round and they can spin it around to view if they really want to.

    Diorama craft pumpkins sounds really cool. Would each pumpkins will have different video games category?

    There would be a game character that matches the theme of the table. (If they're at table Metroid then the character would be Samus)
