Centerpiece ideas (also centerpieces for cocktail tables)

Kelly, on April 30, 2013 at 10:20 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

I wish I could post my pics so you could get the full effect, but FH laptop doesn't allow me to do that on the guest setting and I tried from my phone and it froze up. GRRRR... anyway, let me try to explain... mirrors on the bottom, with a vase about 7 1/2 inches high filled with blue water gems. Two submersible LED lights. (gives off a nice blue glow) White flowers (TBD) with a white ribbon at the base and a green gem style ribbon over the top of the white ribbon. All of this surrounded by 4 votives on the mirror as well as 4 votives staggered throughout the table. For our cocktail tables was thinking of mini white lanterns with candles and maybe a green ribbon around the hook. If you can envision it, please give me feed back. LOL I need my own laptop....

The mini white lanterns sound cute, but the mirrors/marbles/LED lights seem overdone. What about just the vase with marbles in the bottom and flowers in the vase?

I agree the diamond confetti/marbles is a bit much. I wish I could posty picture to explain better though. The water gems with the led light is a lot more subtle than it sounds. I should ha e also mentioned our venue is outside so it will be fairly dark and we aren't decoration the site too much because of its natural beauty (riverfront terrace). Here is a link to a site that might show what the glow looks like. Otherwise I will try to post pics again today. Dumb computer. Ok it worked!!! Yay! Now the disclosure... The flowers will be different. Either roses or hydrangeas, and probably getting rid of the glass beads on the platter that the vase is sitting on. We are having large round tables so I thought some simple votives extending out just a little beyond centerpiece added a nice glow.

Also love this idea but would need to decorate it up a bit

I LOVE the second one. I would maybe NOT "decorate it up a bit". I'm a firm believer that less is more!

I also like the second pic.

I've always heard to use an uneven number (5 votives instead of 4). Will give more light, too.

What about skipping the white ribbon on the bottom of the vase and going around the edges of the mirror with flower petals instead? I think the ribbon looks a little out of place because of the shape of the vase.

I also think you could probably get away with nixing some of the candles. Maybe adding one candle to the four that are off the mirror and taking away the three that are?

I like what you have but u may want to take out the mirror it kinda makes me blind with the reflection of light. :/ just bein honest. I would probably try and get a couple colored led's though. Smiley smile cant wait to see the final
