Centerpiece help

Annette , on July 11, 2019 at 10:23 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 44
I’m making my own centerpieces for my November beauty and the beast wedding! I need help hiding the battery pack. Any ideas?? Would it look silly/stupid to put the battery pack inside and tie a ribbon around it?

Maybe have some rose petals underneath and hide it under the petals

How large is the battery pack? You could always put those small clear stones or something in the bottom and mask it that way, but it depends on the size.

In the background of the photo, is the grey thing next to my hairbrush. It holds 3 AAA batteries.

The battery pack looks fairly big to put it inside - could you maybe have the wire coming out of the glass dome and place it underneath the whole thing? Maybe with some other wood pieces around it to make a platform? Like a wooden ring that's the same height or taller than the pack that you could put the pack inside and then rest the wooden dome bottom on top?

That’s a good idea! Would I be able to find wood like that at Home Depot maybe?

Maybe - Home Depot/Lowes can be hard sometimes because they carry more raw materials than pre-fabricated, but it's probably worth checking. A craft store like Hobby Lobby might be a good place to check too since they tend to have a lot of wooden cutouts.

Sara's idea is perfect. Definitely raise it up on something and hide the battery underneath.

I think so too! I thought about cutting out some of the bottom of the wood base I already have, but I didn’t think about getting a second piece of wood

Have you thought about using rose petals?? That way it looks like the rose petals have fallen.

Maybe some sheet moss at the bottom and rose petals to hide the "bump".

I would place some rose petals and hide it under or maybe even some gems.

Have you bought all the lights for them all yet? That battery pack seems pretty big for those lights. I’ve got ones on amazon that are about half that size and don’t have regular batteries in them. If you already did get them all, I would agree with the others about putting more petals on the bottom to cover it. Maybe glue a few on it.

I did get the lights for them. But I didn’t open them all yet. This wasn’t something I even thought about when I purchased all the supplies to make them. It didn’t even cross my mind u til this morning someone at work said “how are you going to the hide the battery pack” and I was like “huhhhhhhh” haha. I can probably return the lights or see if anyone else needs them. I did find the ones on amazon that the battery pack is a lot slimmer and smaller so I’m going to get those. And they aren’t expensive, it’s like $14 for a pack of 12 and I’m only going to have 10 or 11 tables.
