We are going to try and get Bon Jovi to come and sing at our wedding Smiley smile The first 2 songs that fh dedicated to me were from him so we thought it would be pretty cool and special.Anyone else try or want to get a celebrity come to there wedding? We know it's a major long shot but the worst they can say is no. Lol Smiley smile

If you get Bon Jovi to come, then please send me an invite as well. Im not a celebrity but Id love to come! 😂
One of FHs family members is a famous movie producer... Does that count?
I wanted to send Mickey and Minnie one but I felt weird about having a random person read my wedding information 😂😂😂

You do know that you would have to pay for that right? Even if you send him a courtesy invite he has an assistant or manager that goes through those and you will receive some kind of standard reply. If it has a request to sing you will probably get some letter detailing the cost.

My fiance contacted Sara Barielles about singing at our wedding. Her manager emailed back with the pricing and things like that. She's not nearly as famous as Bon Jovi and it was 50k + for her and that was just to start!

To hire him is $1m+.... They don't do it for free.

He has done mostly action movies 😊
Its funny because these movies in particular are the reason FH and I started dating as we love them, and when FH told me his cousin was the producer I lost my shizzle 😂
I went to his house once, he goes up to me and goes "So youre the famous Jessica? Ive heard so many great things about you and Ive been dying to meet you" and I was like LORD HELP ME FOR I AM ABOUT TO DIEEEEEE!!! 😂😂😂

I am thinking about sending an invite to Neil Gainman. He is my favorite author! It would be pretty cool if he came, but I doubt it!

Do you have an extra few million dollars sitting around to hire him? That's neat...

I think the point of celebrity invites is to get cute returns, not in the actual hope of them coming (unless you know them personally of course). I hope that you're not serious and don't actually think Bon Jovi would come sing at your wedding, unless you'd pay him of course.

I have a friend who is an attorney and people will ask him legal questions at parties or functions outside of his work. I think they honestly expect him to give them legal advice for free because he's an attorney. Asking someone to perform their job for you without apppropriate compensation isn't polite.

There was a wedding at my family’s country club a couple years ago where Bon Jovi was hired to perform. My dad told me the brides dad spent 1.1 million for a 20 minute performance 😳 the entire wedding was over 3 million though so I guess it wasn’t a big deal to them!

Pointing out that there is a very real cost to having a superstar come play your wedding is important. For one, its much more disheartening to send a letter with hope only to see it has a price tag after the fact. If you can ready yourself for it you're less likely to be letdown. Optimism is great but it shouldn't be blind

    2. Artists need to be compensated for their work. Even big superstars. It's great for them to do charity work but thats when its actual charity. Giving a free concert jsut because could be a waste of time and resources. Performers are the only people who are asked to give their product away for free; and that's wrong.

My first wedding I sent an invite to the white house and got back a pretty cool letter from Barbara Bush with her declines. We are not inviting an "celebrities" but FH cousins husband is a pretty well known pro baseball player and they are invited....we are getting married during the season so it is doubtful they will come.

It's one thing to just send an invitation and hope to get a cool reply. It's another to say "we sent a letter asking for X celebrity to sing/perform at our wedding" Especially considering she is a year away it seems like she might actually be trying to make that apart of her planning so people pointing out the logistic/financial realities is actually helpful.

Again pointing out a reality is not bad or rude or not "letting her dream" I even included the very real incidence of when my fiance considered doing something like this and had the reality of it hit him in the face. She asked and answers where given; and the majority of that is pointing out that it costs a lot of money to do something like this. OP is posting every day and has mentioned several times of their limited budget so pointing out the financial aspect of this is actually really important so that they have all the facts.

Haha that's funny you should ask. I wanted to reach out to Bruce because he's from NJ and our wedding song is one of his. Thought it would be cool to have him sing it but I can't see him doing it for free
