Catholic Hindu Wedding

I am by no means familiar with the details, but I attended a wedding that had two ceremonies. One was Indian and the other was Christian. With our RSVP we were able to choose an Indian dinner or more traditional American dinner. The wedding was at a hotel and there were two separate officiants. The wedding planner specialized in fusion weddings as there’s a large Indian American community where the wedding was held.

We are having a Hindu & Christian joint ceremony and a regular reception. He is not Catholic which I know is more stringent.

We are having two priests- a Hindu ceremony first followed by exchange of vows etc with a wedding officiant. You could also do two separate ceremonies which a lot of my friends have done.

We are also having a traditional Sangeet the night before for my side and having a brunch the day after that his parents are hosting which is acting like our traditional American rehearsal dinner.

You could consider doing a Sangeet night before or put Indian touches to your reception such as food and decor and dancing.

I’m so excited for both. I like your idea of doing a little bit of both for each day. How many days in total is your wedding?
Were you able to use some of the same vendors for both days? Was it a challenge to negotiate prices with vendors since you needed them for multiple days or were they willing to work with you?

Our wedding is 3 days in total!

Friday is the sangeet in the evening. Saturday is the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Sunday is a farewell brunch hosted by my in-laws.

My vendors are used to Indian weddings so it was not an issue. The only vendors I am using for multiple days are the decorator/florist, DJ and photographer. All events are at the same venue, chose a hotel so it's a true wedding weekend for guests. I have a mendhi artist and Indian caterer on Friday night. Saturday we are doing a plated American meal.
