We’re doing a casual beach wedding because all the formal trimmings just aren’t us.
What made you decide on s casual wedding? How will your casual vibe play out in your wedding?
Love to hear from my fellow casual ladies!

I'm getting married this weekend, and it's pretty casual. We're having the ceremony and reception at a l local community center, our food is coming in from a local fried chicken place, we have 1/2 keg and a 1/4 keg of beer, and we're bring in our own liquor. We decided on casual for a few reasons, one was budget. The other is we're not fancy people really. He's a plumber and pretty much is always in work clothes, and i'm normally in jeans and a t-shirt with my hair in a ponytail! He did rent a tux and I got a pretty affordable gown I love. Paper plates, plastic cups...that all works for us

I’m a jeans & t-shirt kinda girl too. Our food is coming from the local bbq chain, paper plates, etc. no alcohol just two giant coolers with water & soft drinks.
Budget definitely factored in to our level of casual as well.

Must be in the name LOL The one splurge I wanted was a DJ. Luckily I have a friend of over 35 years who does it and is really good and cutting us a great deal as our wedding gift. Another friend since 5th grade is a photographer and she is doing our wedding as our gift. I didn't ask either of them do to that, i'm just lucky to know some nice people

We are true rednecks so casual is our ideal style. I asked FH what his goals were for the wedding. He wants beer, to have fun and wear jeans. All cool with me.

we are having a pig roast, a short reception and a bonfire. Guests are asked to come in jeans or shorts. We are having cornhole, Giant Jenga, ladder ball, etc.

You are lucky! We don’t have friends in the industry. But we got an inexpensive photographer, skipping the DJ, etc.

We just started planning, but we're planning on a backyard ceremony & reception, both at our home. We're tinkering with the idea of having the restaurant I used to work at cater, buffet-style. It's a casual diner, but has been on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and wins local awards here in Vegas. It's the place we met! He came in for lunch while on duty, and came in every week thereafter until I gave him my number. It's my favorite part of our love story & fits the casual vibe we're going for.

We're also planning a non-formal guest dress code, and optional wardrobe changes for the bridal party after the ceremony. We just want everyone to be comfortable enough to have fun! We're planning on changing into something comfy but keeping it classy. We're likely forgoing many reception traditions, like a bouquet/garter toss and some formal dances. Still working on the details!

When we started talking, I learned he wasn't a huge fan of the formal vibe at many weddings. When I thought about it, I realized I really wasn't either. We just want everyone to have a good time & put our own personalities into it a bit.
