Carnival Cruise Wedding

NyeshaC, on May 27, 2017 at 8:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I would love to read the experiences of brides who have had their wedding with Carnival. Particularly ones who had their wedding on shore recently? How was the planning process? What are you pros/cons of doing a wedding thru the cruise line? How was the reception? I noticed that are really short. Since my FH found out that wedding a cruise is a thing its really what he wants to do and I've dreamed of a destination wedding so I'm glad this option is here. And I was wondering.. has anyone attempted to plan a wedding without the cruise line but during the cruise (like at one of the ports)? Like with a private planner? Did you end up saving?

I looked into this. It really was expensive so we decided not to go that route and went with just a DW instead.

I'm having a Carnival cruise wedding Oct 8th, but I booked last October, when everything was included for a reasonable price. I have no regrets so far and Carnival has been great at answering questions and sending information. Definitely easier for them to do the work for me

I'm planning a Carnival Cruise wedding.. I'm getting married in August with a shoreside ceremony and reception on board. The process has been smooth so far.

I'm not doing a carnival cruise wedding but we do have one booked for our honeymoon. Seems fun to have everything all in one. Wedding and honeymoon combined

Mines October 9th. I booked last year cost was pretty decent but non sailing guest option turns out to be more of a curse than a blessing

I just went to one, and it was terrible. I felt so bad for the couple bc I know they're expensive and the quality of their services were god awful (and I promise I didn't have high expectations). The couple is wonderful and so nice, and I legit felt bad for them after it was over.

    Don't do it.

Hi Sarah. There are a few of us on this post, myself included, that have already booked one. Can you be more specific about your concerns? "God awful" is not very descriptive. Thanks.

@Toni H. The photos that were taken by the photographer were so photoshopped the bride no longer had any facial features (they also looked like prom pictures the way they were staged). As a guest we felt it was really bizarre to board the ship and just have free reign for 2 hours before the ceremony started (but had to be there by a certain time to go through customs and all even though we weren't going on the cruise). The ceremony was really short which was fine, but the reception was so rushed for the bride and groom. The coordinator or photographer (I'm not sure who) tried to get all of the important 1st pictures done within the first 15 min of the 1.5 hour reception. The whole set up was awkward, cheesy, and rushed.

@Sarah. Oh wow, thanks! We are already booked to have our wedding on Carnival and are aware of the shortened length of the reception but it's good to know about the photography. Thanks for the input!
