Cards & Pockets

Kim8815, on January 4, 2015 at 2:24 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I'm convinced Cards & Pockets never (or hardly ever) has a sale. I've been looking at DIY pocket invitations for 3 months now. I was convinced they'd have a Black Friday sale but no. Oh well. ** rant over **

I've been considering using them... are you doing your invitations completely from scratch? I love the look of a pocket invitation, but I can't decide if I should just buy a design off of Etsy and get them printed or use a Vistaprint invite.

Sorry for going off topic there. I don't think I've ever seen a sale offered, either.

I'm buying a design off etsy. I'll probably take the design (from etsy) to a local print shop to be printed on card stock.

If it makes any difference, their paper is super quality and their customer service is great. I used them for my invitations and it worked out perfectly.

I just ordered a sample pack. We created our design using Adobe Illustrator, but our biggest concern is not getting the quality of paper we want. They also don't have the traditional kraft paper we'd like, but we could buy that super cheap elsewhere. If they're high quality, we'll be using them. I've never seen a sale for them, but they have been the cheapest for the packets so far.

@Barbara did you also use their print shop?

Kim--I have a color laser printer, so printed most of the components myself. The info card didn't print well, so I had that one done at Kinko's-- you can bring your own paper to kinko's for printing, so if you don't have a good printer, that's what I'd probably suggest.

I am using Cards & Pockets. It is a bummer they don't have sales, but their prices are really good. I ordered the sample pack and the quality was great. I also got a sample and quote from the print shop. It was reasonably priced, but I am still shopping around to see if a different print shop would be cheaper.

Can you upload your own design to this website? I really want to buy a template off etsy and then have it printed.

Yes, they allow you to upload your own design and will even provide a sample print for a fee. I'm most likely going to purchase the card stock from Micheals (with a coupon), purchase the design from etsy and take to Kinkos or Office Depot for printing. I'm also still covering my options and cost.

No, they don't have sales, but their prices are really good. I ordered a sample pack and got it in two days. I was pretty impressed with that!

Not only do they allow you to upload your own design, they are super careful about printing it. Our invitation design was derived from the design of our ketubah (formal Jewish wedding contract). There were some tiny Hebrew letters in the original design that we did not remove, but at invitation size they were practically invisible. Cards and Pockets called us to make sure we didn't need them to come up with options to make those letters more visible.
