Cant pick a wedding dress!

Stephanie, on April 26, 2021 at 3:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I’m feeling a bit defeated lately. I’ve gone dress shopping 4 different times and probably tried on 40-50 dresses total and none of them feel like “the one” did everyone have that feeling when they found their dress? If not, how did you pick?

Nope. I found like 5 i really liked, showed them to my mom, gma, and sister and then helped me narrow it down. I really liked my dress but I would have been equally happy with like 3 other ones. I don't think it's odd not have the "OMG IT'S THE ONE" moment!

I had “the one” moment, bought the dress immediately and fell out of love with it. I got caught up in the initial lust of the dress without paying attention to the details, comfort, practicality, etc. I think it’s perfectly okay that you didn’t have a moment and it’s honestly smarter to think more logically about your dress in my opinion. I would personally judge off of comfort, if i feel beautiful in the dress, and practicality based off your venue/theme etc.!

I didn’t have a crying breakdown moment but, as soon as I walked into the store and seen it on the mannequin I knew that was my dress, it had everything I wanted. I tried it on and felt immediately glamorous and beautiful, I didn’t want to take it off. I think your feeling will come, just be patient. Do you know what you’re looking for?

I know a lot of people do not,, or they only get that feeling later durring the fitting or once they put on their veil with it.

I had a moment where I just didn't want to take my dress off. Only tried on 4 total. My mom was with me and sending pictures to my sister while I tried them on. My mom picked the dress off the rack and I initially didn't want to try it on. My sister could tell from the photos which dress I was going to pick because I was smiling so much. I just felt comfortable and beautiful. Didn't buy it because I kept saying to myself it couldn't possibly be that easy. Kept myself up all night thinking "but what if someone else buys it before I go back next weekend to try it on?" Went back after work the next day and bought it.

I don’t think you need to focus on those feelings of the dress being “the one”. I don’t think everyone experiences that and thats okay. I personally did not cry after picking out my dress but my mother did as soon as I came out in it. Right there I knew that was “the one”. (And i love it too I didn’t just choose it because of my mother). I just never saw myself crying over a dress!

I tried on dresses at home, and that did not work too well. I went to 4 salons in one week, which not only helped me realize the silhouette I wanted but also the style. I looked ahead at the designers they carried to make sure they were what I had in mind. By the time I got to the 4th salon I had found my dress. I was happy & elated during & after the appointment. I did not cry but I felt relieved when I had found & chosen the right dress. You’ll know when you find it.

I planned my wedding in 90 days so I had to make a decision ASAP. I went to one boutique and tried on 6 dress. The last dress I tried on was “the one”. You can tell because you’ll look and feel so beautiful and confident, and comfortable in it. I tried on every style and I’m glad I did because I ended up choosing a ballgown
Something I never would had. Keep trying on dresses that looks good on your body
and I’m sure you will find “the one”! Also don’t settle and sleep on it before you buy it so you don’t regret it.
