Can't decide on color themes for my wedding

Charlene, on January 31, 2023 at 1:16 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 2

I have been reading a ton of wedding planning books and one of the things that it says there is to decide on a specific color to tie it together. Thing is, I don't know what colors to pick! I am planning on having a Godzilla themed wedding so I don't know what colors are very Godzilla-y. I know I want my florals to be red roses with green viney foliage inspired by the plant monster Biollante so should my colors be red and green? I am afraid if I did that it would look too Christmasy. Would adding black into the red and green color scheme prevent it from being too Christmasey looking? It is also going to be in November so I suppose darker colors including dark reds and greens wouldn't be too out of season.

I am just confused because I never really thought of picking colors when picking my theme, but that is what all the books I am reading say you must decide.

What do you think?

If red and green are the colors you'd like to go with, there are many ways to do this without it looking Christmasy! Here are a few inspiration photos I found on Pinterest:

As far as choosing colors, pick 2-3 colors that you like! You could also scroll through Pinterest to see if any color palettes stand out to you. You could also have flowers that are a different color than your wedding colors. For example, if you choose red roses with greenery for your bouquet, you could still choose your wedding colors to be black and silver, or navy and light pink, or gold and white, etc.

Awesome, that definitely gives me ideas, I was thinking maybe a crimson with a forest green similar to the green Godzilla typically is in most versions and black to tie it together. I did do a quick google search and there are a lot of fall and winter weddings with this color scheme that pull it off. When I hire my wedding planner (I plan on going to to some bridal expos to talk to some of them one on one to see if I vibe with them), I am sure they will have some ideas to tie my vision together
