Can’t decide on a venue!!!

Maddison, on June 13, 2019 at 5:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Y’all I can’t make decisions 😩 I’m literally the most indecisive person ever!! We’re having a dilemma on where to have our wedding! Here’s our two choices we’ve narrowed it down to!

Whitlee Springs, Jeffersonville KY: more our style. Awesome dressing rooms!! Plenty of space and opportunities. They set up and clean up and include a lot of decor, linens, tables and chairs. More pricey. An hour and a half away. Rural Area.

Ashland KY Old Train Depot: beautiful/rustic. Smaller and confined with less opportunities. More affordable!! Doesn’t include clean up or set up or any decorations. Slightly Closer to home (1 hour). In the City, closer to caterers and hotels.

Side note **At the old train depot, we probably wouldn’t have enough room to do ceremony seating, reception tables, a dance floor, and catering. So we’d have to have the ceremony while everyone is already seated at their tables and we’d have an isle going through the middle to walk down. I’m not the biggest fan of this idea but I guess it’d work out fine.

Help a girl out, we can’t choose! We’d be happy either way I believe. Both places seem great!

I'd go with Whitlee Springs! It may be more pricey but that does include the decor and staff you were talking about and you will really want that staff on the day of.

Sounds like the first option is the better one even though it’s more pricey it seems like you’re getting more. If you can afford it I’d go with Whitlee springs!

If it were me I'd keep looking. The train station doesn't sound like it has much you'd want but the Whitlee Springs location sounds kind of cookie cutter. If you want the standard, classic, wedding its fine. My fh is in the banquet industry and says that places like that price gouge a lot and cut corners by essentially giving hundreds of couples the same "big day" over and over again. It's not a bad option if you really like it but we viewed several places like that and didn't like any of them. My question is how did the event staff treat you at each venue? Were they telling you what to do or giving you your options and information? That's what really made our venue decision for us.

Absolutely the first one! Both are pretty, but the first offers so much more! Also, I am not a fan of weddings where I am already seated at my table during the ceremony. I also wouldn’t want to clean up at the end up the night!

I’d go with Whitlee Springs! You get so much more included & I’m personally not a fan of the lack of ceremony space either.

Definitely go with the first venue! You want as much flexibility as possible on your wedding day. I've been to weddings where it's been a little cramped and it certainly brought down the mood.

Before you make a decision, be sure you're comparing "apples to apples" regarding the costs. Figure out what everything that isn't included at venue 2, but you will need, is going to cost and add it on. Daughter and I visited 10 venues, and when she did a true cost comparison, the actual total it would cost to have a similar wedding at 9/10 venues varied by less than 3% between the lowest & highest. Once she knew that, she picked the one she truly loved, because it didn't really cost much more than any of the others. Good luck!

I would go with the first one or keep looking. I would imagine in Kentucky there are tons of opportunities for barn, rustic venues and you have over a year still til your wedding. Keep looking!

Oh boy, I feel your pain. That is a tough choice. They are both beautiful. I personally love the Train Depot but I think Whitlee Springs would work out better and give you more options. You truly can't go wrong with either.
