Can’t decide on a venue!

Kristen , on November 1, 2018 at 1:47 PM Posted in North Carolina Planning 0 8
Fh and I can’t decide on a venue that is for us or the type of people we are. I love so many but it doesn’t go with us if you know what I mean. Here in NC there’s a ton of barns and country clubs. We’re wanting something a little different, we’re not very country. So any recommendations would be very helpful so we could look into them. I’d love the mountains but I don’t know if our friends/family would be willing to travel. So if there’s anything near Raleigh or surrounding areas that would help a ton! Thanks in advance!

Welcome, Kristen! Have you considered libraries, zoos, aquariums, or museums in your area? Those are really cool unique venues with amazing photo opps. My friend got married at an auto museum and said her guests were wowed. Perhaps there are historic homes or estates in NC that might be more your style? Look on your city website for local history spots.

We’re getting married near Asheville at the lodge at Bear River. Everyone is traveling. It’s a gorgeous place.

Hi Kristen! I love the Raleigh area, one of my friends is from there and it's so beautiful! Are you looking for a venue that has both indoor and outdoor options? I found some really cool museum venues in your area that I'll link below for you to look through!

Try the Museum of Life and Science in Durham! They were one of out top 3 picks. There are a few different ceremony and reception areas to choose from.

Marbles Kids Museum was another one we looked at. The pictures of weddings held there online are incredible.

    Hi,

Marbles Kids Museum is on my list but I haven’t seen the venue in person. I’ve noticed there were no new reviews which made me worried.

Hi Kristen! I so feel you. I wanted something non-traditional, modern, maybe a little industrial and definitely not a barn. Here are my suggestions in/ near Raleigh.

Whitaker & Atlantic (just north of downtown Raleigh "DTR")

    Stockroom 230 (in DTR)

Marbles Kids Museum is great (DTR)

    NC Art Museum

I know a couple who got married at the Natural Science Museum which was so cool! (DTR)

    Cannon Room in DTR

    Matthews House (downtown Cary)

    Mayton Inn (Downtown Cary)

    Traine Raleigh

    1705 East

    Market Hall

    Chatham Station (downtown Cary)

Hope this helps! I've been to all these locations so let me know if you need more info .
