Cancelled wedding !!! UPDATE !!!

Kristine, on September 8, 2017 at 2:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 67

This hurts so so much and I can't stop crying... Our county has been ordered to evacuate due to Irma coming through and changing paths. Our wedding was cancelled. My heart is broken and I can't stop crying.

I'm so sorry. My son and FDIL share your date, and her parents, her sister, and niece are right in the storm's path. Yesterday my FDIL was devastated by the news that her family would be lucky to get to Georgia -- let alone NY (the state in which the wedding is being held). She almost cancelled the wedding, but when emotion gave way to logic, she realize that eight tables of guests were arriving on Saturday. They're still trying to get her by Saturday evening, but there is no guarantee, and the wedding will go on as planned.

Just be safe, OP. Deal with the wedding after the storm. I know this is awful, but the sun will shine again.

I feel so terrible. This had to be decided as of about 2 hours ago. Only 4 out of town people were actually able to come. We decided since this is the only time my parents will be here, to sign our marriage license in the morning so my parents can see us legally wed. I can't stop crying I am so scared and broken.

So sorry about this OP. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

My hope is that you can look back on this and realize that the only thing that matters is that you get to marry the love of your life. Enjoy that, and whatever he circumstance, make the most of it.

    Best wishes and be safe!

Oh, Kristine...I'm so sorry. I'm just really sorry. I know exactly what this feels like because yesterday, at around 11:30 AM, my son's wedding was hanging in the balance. Months of planning, weeks of excitement, and days of collecting last minute RSVPs were all about to come to nothing. Nobody understands the devastation of a cancelled wedding until it's a reality.

What are your plans? It sounds like you're getting married, but what about a viewing party (of your videographed ceremony) and a reception in a few weeks? You know, wear your gown, carry your bouquet, have a reception (and possibly a vow renewal). Is that feasible?

I am so sorry! My heart is breaking for you. Irma sucks and Mother Nature is being a jerk! But I promise your wedding will be amazing when you have it! Sending you lots of love!

I'm so sorry. It's awful, but just know the intention is for everyone to be safe. This hurricane is no joke. The venue and the vendors you're using will likely accommodate a new date for you soon. I'm sure it hurts, but you know you will end up marrying your SO. It just may take a little longer to do so safely.

Big hugs. These hurricanes are horrible and it breaks my heart for these people who lose loved ones and/or their homes. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way during, what should be, a happy time. More than anything, I hope you and your family and pets are all safe.

Hang in there girl. At least your family is safe right now. That's the biggest news. I know it hurts and I can only sympathize with you. Praying for everyone's safety through Irma!

I'm so sorry. Everyone being safe is the priority right now but I know you must be pretty crushed. Would you be able to pick a new date with all of your vendors and postpone it until then?

Ugh, I'm so sorry, OP. I'm sure none of us saying "safety is the priority right now" are making things any better...but it's the reality of the situation. Better to be alive and well and able re-plan things in a few weeks or months.

Please take care and stay safe: my FBIL, his wife and two girls as well as my MOH sister and her husband are choosing to stay in Miami and riding this out. I am so scared for them.

I am so sorry to hear you had to cancel. We debated this issue also since we are in the central Western part but after talking to guest everyone was still on board since our area won't be effected till late Sunday and my wedding is at noon on Saturday. I only have about 6 ppl that have said they won't make it.. One being my daughter from outta state. I am sad she won't be able to attend but she doesn't want me to cancel just because of her so we will live stream for her.

I'm so sorry. We went through this with Sandy and Irene; Irene destroyed three of our venues; two have never rebuilt. Two of my couples rescheduled basically the exact wedding celebrations several months later, one just disappeared; we never heard from her again. Two weeks ago, two of our venues closed with literally no notice. We've done one of those couples, and despite the bumps along the road, the wedding was beautiful and I'm sure yours will be too.

Focus on your safety and your parents' safety, get married on Sunday, and when you can reboot, do so with joy.

Hang in there and be safe.

I am so sorry that you have to cancel your wedding. Please remember though, it is just a party and there is absolutely nothing more important than your (and your loved ones') lives and safety.

I'm sorry this is all happening. You can't have a wedding if you are not safe though. So focus on getting out with your loved ones and a wedding can always change dates. I like the idea of still getting married and doing a renewal of a viewing with a reception after.

So sorry, I'd cry too - but I'm sure your vendors (who are also evacuating) can help you reschedule. Just think how pretty Christmas-time weddings are and the story you will be able to tell....

Be safe and hug your new hubby.
