Can you say money grab?!

My mom was invited to a wedding where they invited 400 quests, it's at dinner time and all they are serving are little finger sandwiches, AND have specifically requested money for their gifts..Glad I am not going!

I understand some people thinking it rude but maybe their goal was to get a lot of people they love together and it is cheaper for them to do it with a light lunch. The money thing might be them asking for monetary gifts instead of doing a registry. I personally don't think it's rude of them to serve the light lunch or ask for monetary gifts instead of gifts from a registry. I know I come from a huge family and I'm moving two weeks after my wedding. We can't feed a five course meal to everyone so we went with the option of a large appetizers. A wedding is for people to come celebrate with you...if those 400 people understand that the food won't be an issue, especially since they disclosed it will be a light lunch.

No, thats kinda rude. First off. you dont LOVE 400 people... hell you probably dont even LIKE 400 people.. thats my graduating CLASS! lol. I get being older and not needing things... 1. you don't ever ever EVER ask for money or suggest it. PERIOD. if you expect to have people spend their DINNER TIME out with you, and thank them for coming to the wedding you feed them. Cut the list, say thank you for coming, when you didn't have too, and for being here for me... Ifyou dont do a full dinner at that time you sure as hell better have a crap ton of heavy apps. People at that hour expect dinner. I get your mom has to go.. but PSH, i'd buy Wendys and bring that shit in!

ALSO... #1 its NOT a light lunch, its dinner time.. therefore you need to put tinydinner.

#2 no one needs to go 5 courses... just make sure people don't leave hungry. Heck I dont let people leave my HOUSE hungry, lol. And again, you don't ASK for money... whatever the circumstances.. your parents can spread the word, or just say, they arent registered anywhere.... thats enough.

I'm happy Sabrina expressed my thoughts in a much more diplomatic manner than I would have.
