It can be done. I started planning in April and had 90% done by June. Because my wedding wasn't until October, I did no planning from July-September. I kept wishing my wedding was sooner because I missed planning.

It was easy for me because mine is a Vegas microwedding: getting married on a weekday in Vegas with 9 guests. Getting married on a weekday meant hair and makeup, photographers, and restraurants (where we wanted a reception) were not too booked.

Its difficult to plan on short time, but not impossible.

It can be done as long as you're okay with not having your first pick of vendors. February isn't peak wedding season, but with shorter notice, you may have a difficult time finding venues and/or vendors.

That sounds doable, but we are trying to do a more traditional wedding in that time. Do you mind sharing which weekday you'll be getting married on? That's a variable we haven't considered much.

Do you think it will help if we keep away from the major city in the area? Maybe the vendors won't be as solidly booked?

If you have your heart set on a specific area, I would call around to different vendors in that area before you decide to go somewhere else.

One of my BMs planned hers in 7 weeks. She had a ton of family help and it helped that she had a lot connections in her small town.

Wednesday for my wedding but a lot of people recommend Thursday or Friday weddings because they work better for guests traveling and work schedules.

I'm sure it can be done but I wouldn't want to. You won't have many people show likely, and your first choice vendors won't be available sometimes especially if your date is in peak wedding season. I found that booking my venue and photographer even a year out, they were limited on dates so we worked around their schedules because they were non-negotiables for us. You would also have to buy a dress off the rack in all likelihood because having a dress ordered can take at least 5-6 months, same with bridesmaids gowns. Also with ordering invites and save the dates, and items for the wedding from places like Etsy etc. can take some time to arrive, then you have to assemble them, and send them out...I mean I wouldn't do it but I am sure in a way it could be done.

It can be done. You just can’t be picky with vendors and most likely have to get a off the rack dress.

I’m almost done with doing mine in 5 months and haven’t really had any issues other than with hotel room blocks.

Yes! We will be engaged about 5.5 months by the time of the wedding and I haven’t been planning constantly and took some weeks off. It could definitely be done in 4, just know that a lot of venues and vendors will be booked, but you should be able to find some available

Depending on the size and type of wedding you’re planning, it’s totally doable.

My advice would be to get your venues booked immediately for the ceremony and reception, because those are often the most difficult to find on short notice. Once you get those figured out, the rest isn’t too difficult.

Yep! Got engaged in June and our wedding is in October. I have almost everything done. It’s been stressful: I won’t lie. I wouldn’t change it, though! So excited for it to be here!
