I looove my wedding dress. I got it cleaned not preserved just so that I could wear it again. But where can I wear it? I want to wear it to dinner for our one yr anniversary at a dozy byo. Dh thinks it is crazy. What do you think?

I think it's your dress, and if that's what you want to do, go for it! I made DH promise me a party so I could wear my dress if I still fit in it for our 25th-- a little incentive for me to maintain my weight! This year was 14-- two kids later, so far, so good!

I don't know what a dozy byo is, but I think it just depends on what you feel comfortable in.. I personally would feel really weird wearing my wedding dress out on any day other than my wedding day. I guess it could also depend on the style of your dress.

I've also seen people get their dress altered to a short dress that they wear on their anniversary, I've considered getting that done as well.

Why not get a Rock the Dress session? I had a couple do this for their one year anniversary. We had a blast, and they loved their photos...it's a great way to celebrate your first year together. Here's a behind the scenes look and the actual blog post.

What a great way to get to wear your dress again and have a casual fun photo session. This bride loved her photos and the session because she said they felt so much more relaxed and more like themselves than they did on their wedding day. Just food for thought. Smiley smile

It really depends on the dress. If you got a ballgown- it's really not good for anything more than a Halloween costume at this point. If you did a different gown, you may be able to alter it to make a gorgeous cocktail dress.

Like was said, some brides will shorten them, and even make it like a sheath dress. Add in some brightly colored accessories and it works.

However, most wedding dresses cannot be used for that type of stuff. They are a one time wear item.

I meant cozy. Not sure why it auto corrected to dozy! Ha. I want to have a wedding dress party where guests wear either their wedding dress or a bridesmaids dress! Need to plan.

I have often thought about trying to get all my married friends together and (if they can still fit in their dress) doing a group wedding dress photo op. It sounds so fun.

I think it depends on how formal your dress is. Mine has a really long train so I don't think I can even make up a reason to wear it again. But if I can I will.
