Can my ex husband walk me down the aisle?

His name was Bernard. We were married for six and a half years and very much in love. We decided (mutually) to split because after his 3rd heart attack and his quadruple bypass, he could no longer satisfy me sexually. We tried introducing a surrogate sex partner into our relationship, but it made Bernard sad to watch me have sex with a strapping, young man. I did my best to maintain eye contact with my husband and even shout out his name, but the tears still rolled down his cheeks as he watched Chad and I make love.

Eventually, Bernard and I parted ways and he gave his blessing for me and the surrogate sex partner to get married. So my question is, would it be inappropriate for my ex husband to walk (or roll, since he's in a wheelchair) me down the aisle? I think it's almost poetic since my old lover is handing me off to my new one. Also, Bernard is like a father to me, since he's 40 years my senior.

What would you do?

Happy Friday ladies! Have fun!

He should totally "roll you down the aisle". My suggestion would be to wear a sexy short dress and sit on his lap while he rolls you down/upthe aisle!!!

Or he could start up the dollar dance for you--you could do it where you're dancing with him like a father-daughter dance by wheeling his wheelchair around, then your new hubby could cut in and it would be another symbolic pass-off.

Alternatively, if you're getting married on a boat or something he could sit his wheelchair at the entrance and ask for admission donations to help pay for the reception.

I hope your ex husband did a background check on your strapping lover to make sure you guys weren't legally married beforehand.

Could he start your honeyfund to a swinger resort? I think that would be incredibly meaningful. Celebrate your love the same way you were introduced!

@LadyMonk- I had to rack my brain for 10 minutes or so before I came up with this gem. Just trying to think of something silly for Friday (and my last day of work before wedding vacation time!!!)

Please tell me that you're not making a seating chart. ADULTS KNOW HOW TO SIT DOWN! :-D

Let them fend for themselves ... oh and make sure to have only 3 chairs for your 59 guests.

Wow, that was a like an episode of the "As the Stomach Turns" - "Can true love be rolled down the aisle?" Tune in next week when Chad tears up as Bernie rolls Emily down the aisle - his last lap dance for life in "As the Stomach Turns". You are funny girl!

Omg this totally sounds like the questions that people ask on Dan Savage's advice column! (Google "savage love" if you are curious) I thought the question was real but definitely asking the wrong crowd lol

Forget walking you down the isle. I think you should ride on his lap. You know, one last ride before you marry another.

Don't use poison! They can find that in a toxicology report! Replace his heart meds with a placebo.

@Carr- LOVE that idea. I'll be sure to grind on him a little too. Might as well give him some fun before he gives me away. Just hope I don't give him another heart attack!
