Can my bridesmaids wear different dresses?

At first I wanted my bridesmaids to have a different kind of top part and at least have the same skirt. But for that it would have to be custom-made and they are not up for the price. They also have very different body types so some of them like a certain dress but it's not available for plus sizes...

They also have very different body types so some of them like a certain dress but it's not available for plus sizes and such. So, I considered maybe just let them wear whatever they are comfortable with so long they have the same color, which is mustard yellow. It wouldn't look weird right??

I intended for all of mine to wear different dresses of the same color, but my original color choice is out of season. I like the idea of different styles because not every dress works for everyone involved, however I got pretty lucky with my choice. They all look great! Good luck! Smiley smile

Sure, why not? We are not in some 19th century and you don't have to follow the old rules, there was even an article about that on here Smiley smile

    Yes.

It’s fine for them to have different 👗es.
    My only👗requirements were to be:
•Affordable•Comfortable•In the color family (closely related, in order to look like we all belonged together)•Re-wearable •NOT Revealing (I should have stipulated “Appropriate for age and body type”).

This is very common now. I told my girls floor length and burgundy and let them pick what they wanted from Azazie.
The only thing is to give enough time for them to decide and a deadline for order. Some of my girls took longer to decide than others. All ordered around the same time but giving ample time is important, especially when it’s a “be free, pick a dress” kind of deal. 😊

I’m giving my bridesmaids free range on style. Whatever suits their bodies. I have certain aspects that need to be the same.
    They need to be
-floor length-made of chiffon-dusty rose in colorAnd all bought from the same place so the colors aren’t slightly off.

I'm doing this! I just told them to stay in the gold range (gold, champagne, rust) just not rose gold. Material: Sequin, satin, silk

Length: Long or short (but not above the knee, elegant)

Send it to me before buying so I can make sure it all goes well together and we are good. I was getting too stressed trying to figure out what everyone should wear. My girls are way too high maintenance.

My girls will all be wearing different dresses. My MOH and myself picked out a material and I picked the colors. My girls have the choice of 10 dresses in the same color. length and material. If you have everyone in the same material the color will look the same in each style.

That’s what I did for my 1st wedding. The bridesmaids’ only requirement was dark blue, knee length, with silver shoes. The rest was up to them. Can my bridesmaids wear different dresses? 1

Not weird at all! I was going to do that for my BM’s, let them choose whatever they are most comfortable in but I don’t have very different body shapes for the girls so I think they’d be okay with whatever I choose for them. But I think you should totally do it if that’s what’s going to make you and also your girls happy. One thing to consider is make sure the fabrics are relatively the same because the fabrics can make the color look off and slightly different it’s not a huge deal and if it doesn’t bother you then don’t worry about it but the fabrics can make a difference in the color.

This is what I am doing!! I gave my girls a color swatch from David's bridal, told them it had to be long, and the rest is up to them! They all have different body types/ styles. So far everyone has chosen different -- some strapless, some 1 strap, some off the shoulder. It's been fun to see what style they all choose. Smiley smile

I don't think it would look weird at all, in fact, that's what I'm planning to do. If you still want them to do different tops and the same skirt, look at Revelry. They have separates and everything comes in a mustard yellow color.

I told my bridesmaids what length, color, and website I would like them to order their dresses from. That way I know the color will be the same, and they will all wear a long dress, but they can choose what style and price range they want. My sister is my MOH and she's wearing a different color than the other girls, but she is still wearing a long dress. The groomsmen will wear the same thing, but the groomsmen will have a pocket square that matches the bridesmaid color and the best man will have a pocket square that matches my MOH.

My friend told us what color she wanted us to wear in her wedding, but we all purchased them from different websites so they were all different colors. She told us to buy a blush dress, and mine was more pink than the others. It made me stick out like a sore thumb and I did not like that!!

My girls are wearing different dresses because I wanted them to find something that they personally liked and that they felt looked flattering on them. I went to a local shop and we ended up going with the brand Morilee, so they each picked their own dress style but it had to be in blush and in chiffon (so that the color shade was the same). I think different style dresses is becoming more popular because it looks fun and it gets away from the stigma of bride's choosing bridesmaid dresses that are ugly lol I want my girls to look/feel beautiful, too!

My cousin just got married and all of her bridesmaids were wearing different dresses, and different variations of a similar color. They looked great! Go with what works for you.

Seriously look at Pinterest. MANY bridal parties have different dresses in the same color and mismatched bridal parties are super popular right now, where all of the dresses are different styles and colors but have an overall cohesive look.

Personally I think putting all your maids in the exact same dress is so outdated, plus pretty unkind to them if they have different body types and skin tones. We all know that different things look good on different people, and I think there are very few universally flattering silhouettes and colors that work for everyone. You should definitely give your bridesmaids some options so they can be comfortable at your wedding.

It's definitely super common to do the same color and length with different styles nowadays! My girls even did different fabrics (chiffon, lace, etc) and I thought it looked good My junior bridesmaids were in slightly different shades.

All of my bridesmaids picked dresses that fit them. My only requirement was that they all be a certain color and all be long. Together they look fine and it shows off their own personalities.

I'm doing the exact same thing! All of the girls chose different styles that flattered their own figure and they feel good in their dresses. I only asked for the same fabric which is mesh and color dusty sage (we are going through David's Bridal because they have locations all over the US and our bridal party is in several different states).
