Calming nerves before wedding?

Andrea, on September 6, 2018 at 8:29 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

Hi everyone!
How are you planning on calming your nerves on our big day?

1. A few drinks?

2. Music, games?

3. Relaxing, going for a walk?

4. Any other tips? Smiley smile

FH and I are sticking to our usual routine of getting up early and going to the gym, which is always my go-to stress reliever. Then we will grab a light breakfast together before he heads over to a friends hotel room to get ready and my hair and makeup people arrive. I’ll probably have a small glass of wine with my friends in the bridal room right before the ceremony, but I definitely don’t want to drink too much! I want to be able to enjoy the day with clarity.

That sounds like a great plan! I love the gym idea, that's awesome! A little bit of wine won't hurt, haha! That's great.

Wine is fine but don’t drink too much before the wedding !
if you’re feeling stressed get a nice lavender candle to create a nice soothing environement in the space you’re getting ready. Maybe have a couple fun movies on hand to play.
Also, I wasn’t particularly nervous but we did a first look and I feel like that was super helpful to calm any nerves we may have had. Once you see each other everything after that is a piece of cake.

I have a slew of anxiety disorders, and I know I'm going to be a mess the day of. So I'm going to be sleeping in as late as possible, then taking a low dose of Xanax with a vodka tonic on the side Smiley laugh

Our wedding is on a Saturday and about 1 1/2 from where we live, so I booked a suite at a hotel for us. I am actually checking in Thursday with my maid of honor and I am booking a massage. The suite also has a Jacuzzi and I plan on taking a nice long soak. Just to relax as much as possible.

I wish we had gotten a massage a few days before! We had house guests then a two-day drive to our venue, welcome dinner, then 4 hours to decorate our venue before getting ready. Crazy!

Exercise & little alcohol for months before helped us manage the stress.

I'll probably have a drink or two! I really don't like a lot of attention, but I know a drink will help calm me down!

I might also go get a massage...but I'm not too sure yet.

The day of I plan on getting to the venue at 8 AM, setting everything up with the help of my mom and DOC then probably have my girls arrive around 10, go in for hair and makeup, hangout with all my girls, mom, FMIL, etc. then get married! I stress no matter what, so anything I think will help, won't. Lol. As long as I have my mom there to bounce ideas off of, I should be good. Will definitely throw in a few alcoholic beverages!

    Beta blocker.

KIDDING. Champagne will be just fine, and paying someone else to worry about the little things will soothe all nerves (shout out to my DOC!). Prevention is excellent medicine, I tell ya.
