Calling off the wedding

Yasmeen, on September 16, 2019 at 6:36 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
My FH and I have decided to seperate. We have been together 20 years with many ups and downs. We have 2 children together( young children) and own 2 businesses. I recently found out that he was cheating yet again. He actually was cheating at the time he proposed in February. His insecurities have led him to believe that I am currently cheating on him, and the interrogations is too much for me to bear. The venue we booked back in April has a no refund policy, but we have have already put down $5800 on the venue. Is there a way to break the contract and get some of our money back?

I am so sorry. That must be incredibly difficult. Legally, there is probably nothing you can do. However, maybe you can appeal to their compassion. I would reach out and explain that the wedding is canceled due to his cheating and seeing if there is any way they would be willing to refund your deposit.

I’m so sorry. Being cheated on hurts so much. Reach out to the venue and explain the situation. Maybe they will agree to at least a partial refund.

I'm so sorry!! You deserve so much better. It sucks but better you call it off now. Some venues will refund at least some of your money if they can rebook your date. It can't hurt to call them and see what they say.

Am sorry to hear love, being cheated on is the worst possible feeling and completely messed with how we view ourselves. I wish you all the best with your 2 littles ones, and pray that you find peace and and happiness. I would definitely say to call the venue and explain the situation, maybe they will refund your deposit.

I have heard that, if that date ends up getting booked by another couple, most will refund you the money. Maybe they would be willing to do that?

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Nobody deserves to be cheated on. Your children deserve a happy mother and you deserve someone who loves only you! I would call the venue and see what they can do. There might be a possibility that it could still be rented by someone else and maybe they would refund you. I wish you and your children the best of luck. I hope you find happiness!

Smiley sad sending you hugs. Like what other PPs said, the venue might be compassionate and give you some sort of break.
