California November 2020 Wedding (santa Clara County) - Covid-19!

Kathy, on May 12, 2020 at 7:13 PM Posted in California Planning 0 3

Hi ladies! I have been planning my November 15th, 2020 wedding, but have stopped for the past two months due to this whole COVID-19 thing.

In February and March of this year, I was still trying to find the perfect dress, but now I am not too sure if I should just order a dress that I "sorta" liked.

I live in California and my county has some stricter guidelines in regards to social distancing, so not sure if I should continue with a November 2020 date. My venue just e-mailed me earlier today stating they would allow me to postpone my wedding to next year as long as it is within the same season and same day of the week. I am unsure if I should take up on this offer.

A whole year seems super far away, but I think it would be best for guests and for everyone to have fun. Has anyone here postponed their November 2020 wedding date to one in 2021?

I would suggest waiting things out a little longer. We don’t know what’s going to happen this fall, especially with the rumor that the virus may be worse, but who really knows? If I were you, I’d wait. We may even postpone to December 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi neighbor! We are maybe a bit different, since we will have a destination wedding in Hawaii this end of July with our kids. However, you know how it is, mask is required, 6 feet is required. If I invite guests, I would be okay with having them 6 feet apart, but I think it’s super weird to have mask on during the wedding and no one could even eat.

I do ordered my dress back in early February, and picked it up on 21st of April. I had my 1st appointment with my seamstress and my second appointment is June 10th. So far we are moving on as planned. But if the situation is still like this (Hawaii require 14 days quarantine for everyone coming into the island), then I would have to postpone. I hate to say I don’t know when I would get married, because the exact date and time matters a lot to us. So, it might be a year or even years ☹️

    Hi Kathy,

I'm sorry that you're feeling worried in the midst of wedding planning. It's great that your venue is willing to work with you on a new date through 2021.

The general consensus for November is that it's too soon to panic, but that doesn't mean your concerns will disappear. It never hurts to have a plan B in place, of course. Here's a related discussion: November 2020 wedding - anyone postponing yet?
