I love the look of naked cakes but I think we are going to do frosting because it matches the vibe of the wedding better

I was confused, being British. When you say frosting, that's what we call buttercream. The traditional icing on English cakes is fondant. That I used to love when I was a child, but now it's too sickly sweet for me. Buttercream on the other hand, I love. So, I will change my answer to frosting. Smiley winking

I'm gonna have to learn these things for when my American FH moves to me. I foresee us both getting lost in translation. Smiley xd

I think naked cakes are really cool for rustic weddings. But if that is not the theme, then I am all about the frosting!

Extra frosting please. You can't have cake without frosting. Also the frosting on the cake makes the cake look better.

Naked. I'm not having frosting at all, we're doing poundcakes and then having whipped cream and strawberries to go with. One it's my favorite cake, two I've never been a huge fan of frosting anyway, three, FH, my dad, mom papa, and probably some others are diabetic, so I wanted a healthier option

I love the naked look about not a fan of how cake tastes without frosting, but it has to be buttercream frosting.

To each their own. I prefer the look of frosting. Plus you can work with a baker to get a taste you like.

Listen, FH and I HATE frosting. We always have, apparently ever since we were BOTH little kids. I scrape the frosting right off of the cake before I eat it and I don't care if someone gets offended.

However, turns out we just hated American Buttercream frosting! haha.

The baker for our wedding, after we told her we HATED frosting and would likely do a naked cake, made us a homemade SWISS BUTTERCREAM. And, y'all it was LIFE CHANGING.

We are now having a very traditionally frosted wedding cake and I am SO excited to have more of that frosting...as is FH!

I am going back and forth on this one because I love how a naked cake looks but also the frosting is so good!

I prefer the naked cakes. They look less sugary.
