Cake smash in face - yes or no?

I'm curious on opinions about whether or not you ladies are planning to smash the cake in your hubby's face. I'm torn on this! Part of me wants to, the other part doesn't. I think it would be fun, but if I chose to I think it won't be super drastic. And what if my makeup is messed up?!

I dislike this soooo much. I think it's so rude.

FH said he would never smash anything in my face. We don't like the idea. "To each their own" just not us!

I would love to because it's just something that is always fun and funny, but we are not doing it for the wedding. I rarely wear dress and hardly ever wear makeup, so I feel like this day with having a really nice dress on and having my hair and makeup done is not the day for me to smash cake or have cake smashed in my face. We will feed each other with our hands or a fork don't know which and fine with either.

I don't plan on it, but who knows what my husband will do in the moment. Lol

Nope. I'm spending all kinds of money to look good and I have no desire to have sticky cake on my face and dress. Not to mention the fact that I'm not a fan of people hitting me in the face so yeah.... It's a hell's no from me.

DH kept teasing he was going to do this but I warned him I would annul the marriage if he did and I was not joking - haha. I spent lots of money on hair, makeup, and a dress and I would have been PISSED to have it ruined!! Also, I just don't like the idea of smashing something in the person I love's face. I would never, ever do that. The tradition of cutting the cake symbolizes always having plenty, so I don't think smashing goes with the symbolism of cutting and feeding each other the cake. DH gave me a little boop of icing on my nose (first pic), so I gave him a little boop of icing too, we fed each other and kissed and it was super cute, and our guests loved it.

We both agree we don't want this at all and don't like the tradition of this! That being said it depends on your personality and whether you both would fine it fun or funny.

Nope. Not after spending forever to make my face look nice. ETA: Also, messy. just too messy for a formal event.

Omg I was JUST talking about this. I'm a big no on this too. For me it's antithetical to the entire day. It's demeaning and disrespectful. And if you don't want him to do it to you (possibly meaner and harder) I wouldn't. It has nothing to do with sense of humor. It's something my ex would do. It can get out of hand and turn mean real quick. I'm against it, but this is a decision for you. Here was the picture I put on Facebook saying its a no for me.

My question for you would be... Why do you want to? If it's to make people laugh you're starting your marriage out with making people laugh at your FH expense. And yes, that's blood.

Nope. If I'm paying someone to do my hair and make up, I'm not ruining it.

We definitely are doing the cake smash!!! We find it hilarious when couples to that. We won't go over the top, but we are excited to do this because it looks like fun.

I told him no, but we wound up getting each other a little bit. It was cute and was something we'd do to each other on a normal day, so it fit and I didn't mind after all.
