Cake Cutting Song?

We used the Star Wars Cantina song - it's catchy but not overbearing, And it took us longer than we planned to cut the damn cake, so it played on a loop a couple of times.

I personally like Be Our Guest, but it's all personal preference. :-)

We did sugar by maroon 5 I think. Honestly--this song get played for maybe 20 sec...(at our wedding at least), so I would not put a lot of weight into it. But I do love a good Disney nod, so your song would be fine.

We're using "Cake by the Ocean" because we wanted something that gave us a laugh. And all of our friends think it's hilarious. But I like the Be Our Guest song

Yeah, I had no idea that the cake cutting song was even a thing! I've never noticed it at weddings that I've attended. We're using Sugar Sugar by The Archies. I think Be Our Guest is a good choice!

We used "Love You Madly" by Cake. It was a little tongue-in-cheek (I think H and I are the only ones who listen to that band among our families) but perfect.

I was thinking of "Going the Distance" by Cake. I thought it was cute because of the title and artist...and then I looked at the lyrics:

I very randomly chose Believer by Smash Mouth. Shrek happened to be on TV and I thought it was an upbeat feel good song. I doubt anyone was paying attention to the actual song! My second choice would have something by Bruno Mars.

I was thinking of Cake by the Ocean but some of my students informed me that it's about having sex on the beach. I probably could have figured that out if I'd listened to any of the lyrics besides the refrain. Still, it made me feel pretty lame ... I'm only 10-15 years older than my college students but I guess that makes a big difference!
