Cake cutting fee

Hi Michelle!! Welcome to WeddingWire!! That sounds like a pretty steep price for cake cutting. It looks like the national average is about $2 for cake cutting fees, but it can range up to $5. Have you asked your venue if there is any way to get rid of that or lessen the cost? Maybe if you get a cake through a preferred vendor or something like that?

That's an outrageous price for a cake cutting fee! Most venues, that I toured at least, did not have a cake cutting fee. The venue we booked certainly doesn't.

That is insane. none of the venues around me (central valley) have a cake cutting fee

A cake cutting fee is usually included if you get a cake from outside the venue’s catering (or sometimes from outside their preferred vendor’s list). Maybe you can also go beyond and the discount ask them if there is any way to get this fee waived, especially if you’re ordering through them

I think the cake cutting fee is so ridiculous! Instead we ordered a small cake for tradition and hired a desert caterer to serve ice cream sandwiches with the extra money we saved from the cake cutting fee if we were to order a huge cake!
