Our inspiration came from a photo that we saw in a photo album when we were talking to a rep at our venue the we were getting married. We wanted something was elegant and went with our colors which was mint green. We ended up choosing this cake that was a pound cake and it was delicious.

I think the cake is my favorite part!! Here are my inspo photos. One of my colors is purple so I'm having a cake like this with plaster texture in purple hues rather than pink. Complete with gold leaf and roses!
For the groom's cake, I'm keeping it rather simple. A chocolate 2-tier with a "tree of life" topper. A texture similar to this.

My FH and I each have a daughter, so I thought it would be nice to have a dessert that represents then to. I'm having decorated sugar cookies with their initials A and M and flowers they love, lavender and succulents. Something like this.

We're getting married in December and our main color is black, so that's kind of been my starting point. We haven't picked a flavor yet (or a bakery to be honest, our venue gives us 3 to choose from so we're looking forward to doing that this spring/early summer!) but as with everything to do with this wedding, I've got my photo album of inspo!

I'm not a fondant person, so that's our biggest thing - no fondant. And if we do flowers on it, they'll be real. But other than that, we are leaning hard with a black and gold (and a little white) cake. Our cake toper is going to be from Etsy - the two of us with depictions of our dogs as well (since it is a no-dog wedding).

Ooh those are FIRE! And ugh, yes, fondant. I'm not a fan either.

The one thing to be conscious of, is the youtubers Safiyah Nygaard and Tyler Williams had a black cake and said they got black teeth, lol! Obviously not ideal for photos.

But how cool do black cakes look!

FH and I aren't cake people so we wanted to skip out on the whole cake thing but I still wanted something and I know he has a sweet tooth. So cheesecake it is. We both love berries So I was thinking a very berry cheesecake or a strawberry cheesecake with chocolate ganache. I would request that the Kit Kat be grounded up and mix into the chocolate ganache, it's both our favorite chocolate candy.

I am a hobby baker so dessert is definitely huge for me! Everyone is asking if I’m baking the cake & I’m definitely not! Too much stress. We are having an Amalfi Coast theme so this is the cake inspiration. We are either doing vanilla with vanilla custard & fresh strawberries or vanilla with chocolate mousse. There will also be Italian cookies & mini pastries. I’m thinking of making sugar cookies as favors and thinking of something like this. My wedding is a year away so there’s plenty of time to practice!
