Buying your wedding dress online

Laura, on March 25, 2017 at 10:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Ladies have any one consider buying your wedding dress online? I have a small budget for my wedding and have seen very beautiful dresses online but i am afraid they will turn out awful:/

There's a great buzzfeed article about wedding dresses bought on Amazon and they look beautiful on the ladies IRL. Maybe have a look at that? Reviews also help!

I am considering buying on amazon, if you buy on Amazon make sure it is shipped by amazon, then if you get it and it doesn't fit you can return for free, no restock fee or anything. I know it cuts back on the options, but it will give you the extra piece of mind of being able to return it easily if it doesn't fit or meet your expectations. As long as you return it within 30 days Amazon is very hassle free with their returns

Just check all reviews first. Try not to check reviews listed on the site. Look for Google reviews. And look to see where it ships from. Be Leary of things that ship from China. If you see a picture of a dress but not the full body (head to toe) of the model chances are they stole the picture from a real website and are making cheap knock offs

Be sure to google reviews of the company selling the dress before buying. I'd recommend avoiding things coming from China. Two co-workers were talking this week about how they each had daughters buy dresses (one prom & one bridesmaid) and they came from China and each were not right. For the most part they were the correct dress but waaayyyyyy too tiny and their money was wasted.

I bought off Shopbop, which is owned by Amazon. Great experience, but I don't think I could have returned the dress had it not fit. But that's what alterations are for, I guess.

I also had considered buying online to save money, but after a ton of research I found that some shops delete negative reviews and the chances of it being high quality were slim. I ultimately decided against it. My advice would be that, if you have even the slightest doubt, to move on to either another shop or site or to an in person dress shop.
