So i have 3 weeks until my wedding and i just found out that i wont get my butterfly order in time as well as the fact that it isn't the best for the little creature so now i have programs that have 4 little girls labeled as "Releasers" and nothing to release. Any suggestions?? I DID NOT ORDER...

So i have 3 weeks until my wedding and i just found out that i wont get my butterfly order in time as well as the fact that it isn't the best for the little creature so now i have programs that have 4 little girls labeled as "Releasers" and nothing to release. Any suggestions??

I DID NOT ORDER THEM!! I am just trying to figure out what else i can do i don't have the time or money to redo my programs so i need the girls to "Release" something NON LIVING. I cant do bubbles because i am using those instead of rice or flower pedels being thrown at the recessional. I posted about them before and didn't know how cruel it was and now i am trying to fix my HONEST MISTAKE.

NO BALLOONS!!! They are destructive to the ecosystem anywhere they are used.

Honestly no one scares about programs anyway. Just hand them out as they are.

Rose2Weaver- I care to disagree. Yes, it's only 4 balloons for her, but how many others are thinking the same thing? It's just balloons right?

    Let's do some math:

2.3 million couples get married per year in the US. Let's assume that 1/3 of them like the idea of releasing balloons. That's more than 750,000 weddings that release balloons. 750,000 multiplied by 4 = 3 million balloons being released into the ecosystems.

4 balloons won't affect the ecosystem much, but 3 million definitely will make an impact. And this is just for weddings! Nevermind how many balloons fly loose at parades, carnivals, and birthday parties.

Also add funerals and memorials because I release balloons for that as well.

What I'm saying is it's definitely the lesser of two evils

Sevanna, I think fake petals would be lovely, and if someone picks them up afterwards, you don't have to worry about it.

We all have our days. Hang in there. I hope things look up for you.

Also, to whoever said "4 balloons won't hurt", you don't know that. Birds or other animals could find them and try to eat them and die. 4 balloons could absolutely hurt the environment.

ETA: spelling. Words are hard without coffee.

You could release a Chinese lantern depending on what time of day it is and if your venue allows it. That would be nice.

If it's outside I would say if it isn't natural (read real flower petals not fabric and no confetti) don't do it.

Lanterns are a fire hazard in many places and the litter ends up somewhere... Just sayin.
