Bustling Wedding Dress- #coronabride

Ivy, on May 23, 2020 at 8:13 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
Hi everyone, so my wedding plans have changed drastically for my wedding 7/11 and we are now doing a small wedding at my parent's house with a livestream for our guests. Since we have the livestream going, we were going to go right into the first dances after the ceremony. I then realized yesterday after my fitting (and having my mom learn how to bustle the dress) that if we did dances right after, I would need my dress bustled, and I don't want to miss having photos with my train out. My fiance and I talked about doing a short (30 min or so) intermission between the ceremony and first dances for photos with my train as a virtual "cocktail hour), but I still would like photos with my train when we are taking photos later. Has anyone ever bustled and then unbustled their dress? Did it make the dress look less nice since it had been pressed before?

    Hey!
I've bustled and unbustled my dress several times since alterations. You can't tell any difference on my dress, it looked just fine and honestly, it's never been pressed, at the advice of the seamstress. Smiley smile

This will probably depend on your dress and the fabric it's made out of. I'd suggest trying it with your dress and seeing what happens!

Hi Ivy! What does your dress look like and what type of fabric is it?? My big tulle ballgown would look fine, but silk can wrinkle easily!

I'd also try to think through how easy or difficult your bustle is - my dress took one bridesmaid about twenty minutes to bustle with two other bridesmaids holding fabric out of the way. 😂
