Buffalo Brides! Anyone having an issue with venue refunds

Private User, on October 26, 2020 at 1:03 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 7
Hey Buffalo Brides,

My fiancé and I were supposed to get married at Notting Hill Farm in South Wales. In early February we really became concerned of our loved ones safety and started requesting to move our date to 2032. The venue would not budge and would only give us a 6 weeks notice. We were so upset with them that we no longer wanted our wedding there. They refuse to give us a refund. Anyone else having this issue or did get a full refund back? Thanks ladies.

Apologies *2021 we requested to be moved too as we were one of the first couples to book the new venue.

This is happening to a lot of couples, unfortunately.

Does your contract allow for this? If not, you may be out of luck.

It definitely depends what your contract says (if it specifically limits you to a certain rescheduling window, and if any parts of your deposit are non-refundable).

    Hi Zara,

Thank you for your kind words and information. I am sorry to hear you went through a similar situation. My fiancé and I ended up taking the venue to small claims court a d we won our deposit back. We have a new venue now and excited for this coming September. Thank you again.

Awh that's absolutely great news! I'm so happy for you and I wish you both all the best with your wedding plans. Your welcome hun, I'm just trying to help others that are in the same situation that I was in. Some venues are not being fair at all x
