Budget plan - went from 12k to 7k

Future Mrs.greenwood, on February 25, 2019 at 7:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 19
We have reduced our budget but I’m finding it very hard to meet the reduced budget amount .... Everything is coming in but it is over the reduced amount and I dont know what to do now that I already lost $1250 from a previous planner. Is anyone else having this problem? I have 6 months and I am stressed completely out . I suppose to be happy but crying more 😢 I just want it to be over with my gosh..

I am having this same problem we originally had a budget we wanted to stay under, but as we started booking people and finding out just how expensive everything is related to weddings, honestly our budget doubled. That being said there were thing we knew we could not be without like a photographer to do engagement pictures for our save the dates, and having 8 hr coverage for our wedding. We also decided we want a big cake 🎂 to feed our 150 guest. We really have been trying to find the most budget friendly vendors so you’re not alone Smiley smile

Ugh, weddings are so expensive! Did you ladies send out your STDs/invites yet??? If not, slash that guest list. It’s not just the per-meal cost. More guests = more desserts, drinks, rentals, decor, invites/thank you cards. 😭

Cut alcohol or only do wine/beer.
    DIY decor.
Get lots of quotes for cake (also could do a dessert bar, cupcakes, cookies, etc instead)
    Be your own planner
    Second job/part time work
Sell household items to make a little money

I feel ya. I'm down to three months, trying to stay on budget, kids and trying to move. I hate moving..I have so much stuff haha. Stay positive. Look for bargains. Search promo codes if ordering online.

No. It wasn’t hard for me at all. I don’t have a budget per say but I’m a minimalist. When I calculated how much money is coming out of my pocket, (exludes, groom attire and food for guests) it will probably less than $2,000.

Thank you my fiancé has been keeping me on track honestly he's been the main one helping plan, that’s just how his brain works he's an engineer and likes things certain ways and is very detail oriented. So its been a blessing to have his help in all this ❤️ I keep reading that the STD should be sent around 4-6 months in advance to let guest know about your date so I think I’m going to send mine out 6 months prior hope its not too soon..

Homework will be the death of me!! If I had the time we spend on homework every night to Uber I could probably pay for the wedding 🤣 anyways can you cut your flowers down? Instead of full bouquets single flowers? Less or no floral centerpieces, change the type of flower to a less expensive one?

You can get cut flowers at a farmers market and make your own bouquet. Also, potted flowers from Home Depot or Lowes for centerpieces. Decorate the pots and they will double as gifts for the MOB and MOG, MOH, BMs, etc. The potted flowers will live on as memory pieces from your special day. Way less expensive than a florist.
