Bubbles for favors... use for ceremony or reception departure?

Caris, on June 11, 2013 at 2:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

For those of you that have bubbles as one of your favors, are they being used for end of ceremony, or end of reception? I have heard of both, but I feel like little kids will start blowing the bubbles during my ceremony lol. Your thoughts?

I'm planning on bubbles when we leave the church after the ceremony. Since our reception will be going late, no one will be in any condition to blow bubbles. We are supplying a basket of bubbles for people to take on their way out of the church, so no one will have bubbles during the ceremony.

We are doing bubbles, but I'm giving them to them before we enter the reception,.. Since we are showing up on a horse carriage ride, I'm planning on everyone doing it then, i want a flower toss at the end of the wedding. Might be over kill.. Lol

Thanks Valerie and Kris :-) my ceremony and reception are in the same venue, so not much time in between. I was thinking to give then out with the ceremony program. But maybe I can have them by the door for people to take when it's time for our departure after the reception.

I would leave them in a basket at the door or maybe at the end of the aisle and have an announcement made after the ceremony?

I've only seen bubbles used in place of rice immediately following the ceremony exit

I want to have bubbles at the end of my ceremony but being that my reception is going to be not far from the ceremony site I am just thinking at the end of the reception that they are blown at us :o)

Thanks @Starbuck! Is it common to have something for the ceremony exit and one for the reception exit? I've been to one wedding where they did sparklers for a reception exit but I don't recall them having anything for the ceremony exit.

Thanks @Rev. Ann! Thinking about my venue it may just flow easier to use them at the end of reception, idk. Maybe at the rehearsal I'll figure it out lol!

I have bubbles my MOH got me, thought they would be fun for after the ceremony. But then I started thinking if you get all sticky and soapy, and then have to stay like that throughout the reception? No thank you.

I think it just depends on you, at the beginning of my planning process, I bought all the stuff to do a flower toss cone. I seen photos of this and thought it was beautiful. So after my ceremony I want the flower petals toss, but after the ceremony the groom and i, will leave on a horse ride up a mountain for about 20 minutes, and show up at the reception, and that's where I'm having the bubbles, while we enter the reception, maybe a bit over kill, but i don't care, our reception is a all night party, so they won't be a huge send off. But like I explain to my FH, Its our wedding, we are only getting married once, So I'm getting everything I've dreamed about. Lol

We're doing bubbles after the ceremony. They will be "passed out" after the guests go through the line.
