Bubble Machines, what is you ideas/thoughts on it?

FMS, the barefoot wife!, on October 27, 2009 at 5:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

My mom and I were at a bridal show on Sunday, and one company had a bubble machine going, I've seen it before, but I just thought I was cute, for 25 bucks I get the machine and enough fluid for 6 hours. What is your guys' ideas and thoughts on it? Did you have one? Are you having one? Are they worth getting? (are they actually on long enough, or too long? When do you even put them on? Just for kid songs or what?)TIA!

While I like the idea of a bubble machine... I don't know if I would have it for my wedding. It's more formal, so I don't feel like it would fit with the theme. Also, you have to think about how "sticky" the bubbles will be. If you or your guests are standing near the machine odds are that eventually they will be covered in sticky soapy goo. Are you having your reception outside? If not you might not be allowed to have it... and if you can still have it I would be VERY careful-- bubbles and certain kinds of floor= dangerous, slippery mess. Overall I do like the idea and think it would be very cute, you just need to make sure you've covered all the details before you rent one

I forgot about the slippery mess they make NAB, I think i will forgo the idea of a bubble machine...due to the slipperyness, and it won't be on much, so it will pretty much be a waste

Will it be for decoration? Or for your exit? I guess I'm just not sure how you want to use it.

I was going to use it for the reception/dance but not for us for the first dance entrance or anything like that, I was mainly going to get it for the kids that would be there, but I imagine most of them would be in bed a at some point so I will just for go it..

I would worry about the slippery mess it might make..outside I think it would be awesome for the kids...just make sure your venue would allow it... Good Luck!!

I agree with chearysgirl on checking with the venue. We don't do bubbles because they tend to leave a slippery spot. We do have a fog machine that we use occasionally, but lots of venues don't let us use it.

I love bubbles to the point that I always have bubbles at home and have a bubble machine(yes,i have kids and they are grown and I still have them, lol)but I have to agree with the others that suggest saving them for another ocasion. Like a babyshower. They do create slippery floors and are less formal. I have the mini tubular bubbles for guests for our departure though. Because I love them and what they represent to me so I wanted to incorporate them. That's a suggestion. and yea for the kids as chearysgirl suggested is nice. Bubbles look great in pictures too!

My venue has it in their contract that we can't have any bubbles. It's actually an insurance issue for them, more dangerous than candles due to the slip and fall complications. I would like one if we were having a separate ceremony venue from the reception, it'd be a fun send off! But we're getting married outside, then going in for a dinner and reception.. so bubbles could be dangerous lol

We got our AC/DC bubble machine at walmart in the wedding aisle and got it on sale for just $10....we plan on using it for the grandchild when she gets about a year older, she loves the bubbles but not real coordinated yet.

I've shoot quiet few weddings with DJ's bringing bubble machines, there was no mess, nor was it slippery, it was actually very nice for a first dance. With different lights reflecting in the bubbles it was fantastic. Of course, it is up to you :o)

We are getting the bubbles for the walk back after the ceremony after were offically married. We're getting married outside so if it leeks at all it'll just be I'm the grass so no slippery spots to fall. For the reception were looking at getting the fog machine.
