Brunch wedding menu

Ann, on August 14, 2019 at 10:27 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 25
My daughter and future son in law are having a brunch reception. We met with the venue and this is what we have come up with... how does it sound?
Beverages are mimosas, bloody marys, beer & wine, gourmet coffees
Appetizers are mini crab cakes & bacon wrapped shrimp
First course is a table served yogurt parfait with fresh fruit.
Buffet will be eggs benedict & steak and scrambled egg with cheddar cheese bruschetta. There will be a waffle bar with toppings including fried chicken tenders.
Dessert is Nothing Bundt Bundtinis and a S'mores bar.

are we missing anything. Individually wrapped donuts from a local donut shop are being used for the guests table assignments.
thanks!

The menu sounds lovely! My only comment would be to ensure that no guests have a shellfish allergy with those appetizer choices.

I would maybe add a non-shellfish appetizer. People can have shellfish allergies or just not like it. Otherwise, the menu sounds great.

The menu sounds really delicious! Keep in mind food allergies, and it'll take the menu from great to awesome!

That sounds great! As a person who's allergic to half your menu, though, it would be helpful if you could place little warning or FYI cards at the stations so people know what's in everything. Also I'm not sure if this applies but anyone who is vegan may be out of luck.

I agree with the other PPs about the apps. I would offer another non-seafood choice because a lot of people (me included) either don't like seafood or are allergic. Also, I would offer more beverage choices such as hot tea, juice and water. I would add another entrée choice like little tea sandwiches or a quiche so it balances out all the breakfast items.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I will talk to them about another appetizer option. My sister in law is the only one that has food allergy and we have amended options for her. Our one vegan said to heck with it, it's a wedding. LOL (obviously not a strict one)

Definitely a non-seafood app needs to be added! I'm not a picky eater but I hate seafood!

Love everything else on the menu!

That all sounds amazing! Since you know your crowd and there don’t seem to be allergies, I’d say you’re golden.

Yum! I would love to go to a wedding with this menu. You seem to have already made the appropriate tweaks to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions, so I say you're good!

I'd consider adding a fruit and/or other salad to the buffet. The choices all sound great, but they are all pretty heavy/rich and include a lot of carbs (which I don't mind personally!). Adding a side that's a bit on the lighter side will provide more options. A guest who's looking for something a little less filling could choose the eggs and a big serving of fresh fruit. I'd love a brunch wedding!

Thank you. our first course is a yogurt parfait with fruit. You think we need more fruit. the venue does what they call a cauliflower hash ...a mixture if various roast veggies I am getting priced.

I just checked with the MOG and they dont have anyone with egg or seafood allergies, but we both agree we are going to suggest to the bride and groom that a non seafood choice would be good. Even though her daddy and I are hosting, this is their wedding and I want them to have as much control over the decisions as possible.

Depending on the way they do the yogurt parfait, in my experience it might not be a lot of fruit and I think there are a fair number of people who don't care for yogurt, so if it's mixed together they might not actually eat much fruit. I think the roasted veggie hash sounds like it might be a great option, but I don't think you can EVER go wrong with a huge platter of fresh fruit on any buffet.... It sounds like you are all trying to be very mindful and accommodating of guests' needs/preferences! Good luck!

YUMMMM! I went to a brunch wedding last year and it was incredible! They had your standard breakfast foods and a Captain Crunch French Toast with lots of mimosas haha.
